I think the problem is that Ricky is basically the last remaining piece of the Milbury Era. Since Milbury is no longer around, DP is booed by default.
Or maybe he's booed because he signed a huge contract, considering had any of them been in his shoes they would have said "No... I can't sign this. I'm definitely not worth this."
Or maybe it's the fact that he just won't quit. How dare this guy not want to throw away his dream-career. Doesn't he know that the Isles desperately need that $4.5M cap space? Clearly Wang wants to put this team over the top and Ricky is preventing that.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dipietro start this game, and Im not against it. Give him a shot to play a game, see how he does and rest Nabokov at the same time.
I think we have a good shot to win this game, unlike what most people think actually. The team has been so good the last two games that I think we will put up 4+ goals again on the board and it should be enough.

His presence has an effect on this team. I don't think too many people dislike RDP the PERSON. But, as a hockey player, he negatively affects this team. If they had the WAR stat in hockey, there is no doubt that his would be negative. He's played 42 games in the past 3 seasons. That's enough to have an impact. And that doesn't count ancillary impact from the perspective of the rest of the league that we are still giving this guy starts. If the whole Nabby thing never happened, RDP would be starting because you know Snowang would have not grabbed a capable starting goalie.
The league thinks we are a laughing stock, and he epitomizes it. It is unfortunate for him. I get he bleeds blue and orange, and I respect that. If he cared so deeply about helping the team, he would join the booth or some other level of staff.

Just out of curiosity is Boulton injured or just a healthy scratch? I think the game against NJ it felt like he didn't play the last period and a half so I assumed he was injured.
All that being said if Finley plays they better dress 7 defensemen.
I think Martin is going to get payback on Seguin as well for messing with his girl.
maybe, just maybe this teams fortunes start turning around, and a win with dp in net would be a step in the right direction. maybe the arena news was just the begining of good things for us. could u imagine if dp plays the best game hes played since 06-07? thad b amazing, but the reality is that he may let in 3 quick ones, and it ends up totally breaking this teams back. lets hope for the best, lets hope jt, grabner, moulson, etc keep up the fire power
Looking at the Vegas odds, they are truly not that bad. With DP in net and the Isles playing last night I would have thought the Bruins would be at least -240 (2.4 to 1).
