NJ scores on it's 2nd shot, Beagle fights someone not named Asham but still gets knocked out cold, Neuvy pulls groin on 3rd shot (resulting in 2nd goal), and I turn off game with 11:46 left in the 1st period. NJ wins 5-1 with Chimera putting in a goal with 4 minuetes left in the 3rd.
In an exciting twist, Oates switches to the home bench after the 2nd intermission. Nobody on either team notices.
As long as he keeps beasting in the playoffs who gives a **** about the regular season? The fact that we're struggling in the regular season isn't on Ovechkin, it's on McPhee assembling a team that makes the Flames front office look like they know how a hockey team is supposed to fit together.
Also, I thought Semin was the cancer causing everyone to play like ****. Oops, wrong witch. My bad, carry on.
But don't worry, I'm sure once we kick Ovechkin Semin's way and replace him with Michael Ryder and Dustin Penner everything will be sunshine and lollies, and everyone will play with grit and vigor.

If Oates refuses to change anything at all, I am thinking it will take about 10 ugly losses for his systems to eek out a win. Early indications are that he does not address the team, just individuals. That does not bode well for proposing global changes. Like admitting to the team his approach for the PK is not good for us.

I don't like this at all. I agree with Ovechkin slowing down but even I saw that. He would often speed ahead of Nick and he would get confused.
Hopefully fourth time's a charm. Nicky said he was embarrassed at their efforts so far (paraphrasing here). Maybe feeling desperate and embarrassed will get them clicking. On the other hand, they are learning a new system. They're bound to be all OVERthinking constantly, which is probably why they look so uncoordinated.

I don't think anyone here ISN'T betting against Ovi May and Oates at this point haha.
GMGM is throwing **** at the wall and hope it sticks. Oates is doing the same thing.
It wasn't Oates idea to move Ovi to RW, it was Ovi. But Oates agreed to let Ovi try life there. And in Oates defense, has moved Ovi back to LW some, for better or for worse.
But noting has changed, the entire team appears in shambles.
The problem today is bigger than Ovi. Our entire team is lost, and it starts from the net out. G play, D play, and PK work have sucked. Ovi remains our best player. Al May played LW and RW. Brouwer does. Hendricks does. It will not cripple our team.
