He's not worth being the most costly player in the league. Crosby doesn't even get paid that much.

Trade this guy to Detroit for Ian White.
You get out, leave and never post again, because you have no posted what is, by far the dumbest thing to ever be on HF boards.

Dions antics? you mean a shot on net?

Some people... seriously.

If you watched hockey you would know that.
Of course his career high was in Toronto, he played 95% of it here.

I can't take you anymore, you have now made the ignore list.

Chara had most giveaways a well for the bruins, guess he's not a norris trophy candidate.

There's a few worth every cent, Chara comes to mind... Counting on improving your team through UFA though is a pretty bad way to build a team because of exactly that. Players are older and are on the declining (or close to) stage of their careers. Most are aware that this is likely their last big payday and want to look after their families first and foremost.

Again there are exceptions but in most cases it's a perfect storm of a contending team, the city, and the money involved that decides who goes where.

That's shots vs goals, not shots on net vs missed shots.

Looks to me like Phaneuf's had the more accurate shot of the two, at least for the past 2+ seasons.

I haven't been a fan of Dion's for a while.I remember being flamed when we first traded for him, when I said he appeared to be trending downward.

One would think that the decrease in offense and big hits might be the result of playing better positionally and being more responsible in his won end, but that hasn't been the case. He's still the same player defensively as he was in Calgary (not a good thing), but now he's not even making big hits or contributing the offense he once did.

He's always been a high risk high reward type on defence. I could live with the giveaways, defensive mistakes and breakdowns and being out of position at times, if he were at least providing the other things he did in his first 3 years, big bone crushing hits to go with 15-20 goals and 50-60 points a year (49 in 2005).

There is absolutely no way Phaneuf has only 3 missed shots so far this season. And he is also notoriously for shooting square into the shinpads of the guy covering him, which may not be an accuracy issue but is certainly an intelligence one.

I believe shots on net is much like hits, where it can differ a lot depending on the guy recording the stats from rink to rink. I have to believe that Dion has missed a few more shots than 3 as that shooting accuracy seems pretty high.

Norris trophy my ass.. I look at Karlson in Ottawa and it makes me sick we pay this clown 6.5mil and he wears our C.. Guy even turtled last night after hitting JT

So the fact that he was great in three games this season and average (even still good) in one means he's done?

I mean everyone is entitled to teir opinion, but this sounds very chicken little to me.

Picking apart players with a 2-2 record. It's gonna be a long season.

You have to give a little aswell. They were asleep because we put them to sleep. It was a strong game all round with the exception of a play or two which happen every day.

You think he is worth the contract we are paying him? You also think its outrageous to trade him while he has some value as he continues to diminish as some had suggested?
Sorry when your team gets wallpapered 7-4 by the Isles and gives up 6 goals in the last 27 minutes.. yes ppl are going to get called out and this clown is one of them since his coach will never do it..
