Just wondering, if any team would be interested to pick this player for nothing in exchange? 2 years contract at 4,250M$, could help on PP, could have value at the trade deadline next year. If horrible; can be buyout at the end of this season.
He as zero value unless mtl is willing to eat half is salary .. Even then I don't think he will catch much interest !! Probably more at the deadline u will find a dance partner but not now !! U need a team that as difficulty on the power play . I think kaberle will be find in a 5-6 dman but 1 pp I think this is we're he would be more efficient !
Real money is real, so the "out" of a $3M compliance buyout option may not be an acceptable risk for some teams. But if a team isn't too worried about that side of it, he's pretty low-risk on the ice. I don't see the Habs holding back any salary, though... the team is already looking at a tight budget for next year, and have the compliance buyout option of their own.
I'd rather keep him and use the compliance buyout on him than get a 3rd rounder, say, and hold onto $2M of his cap hit, for example. Habs are gonna need all of that cap space (/ can make better use of that extra cap space).
He seems to have slimmed down and can still move the puck and make passes. He hasn't avoided the corners so far the way he did last year either. I would think he's a reasonable bottom-pairing/PP player on many teams. Just that the Habs have those spots more than filled atm. And will likely need to free up his cap hit for next year. I don't think he's "awful" or anything, he can still play and make a minor contribution.
once pronger goes to ltir i could see philly making a play for him. wed be able to take the full cap hit but theres barely even spare parts in the system let alone decent value

You wont need Kaberle because you will have Subban sooner than you expect.

it wouldn't take too much. any prospect that can play a physical game and be defensively responsible (a 4th liner or 7th dman equivalanet)
Komisarek coming back to Montreal would go over like a lead balloon with the fanbase. While you say you would do it, it would never happen.
It would happen (from the Habs' POV) if it was offered on June 14th, however. Only logical. But of course not right now, not today. I think both teams can dare to dream right up until the trade deadline passes of getting something slightly better than another buyout, though.
lets not get crazxy
he's hasn't been on the ice for an opponents goal yet
so he's not that terrible
give him the right D partner and he is fine
Yeah, don't pair him with a Campoli type, say. But he is "adequate" defensively... he soft-touched things a bit too much last season, but isn't doing it that bad this year. He is savvy enough to position himself and use his stick well enough. You couldn't say defense is a "strength" or anything. But so far this year he's not a liability. He knows how to move the puck out.
