I mean, I never saw anything about Jones or Barkov 3 years ago (may be a location issue, locals focus on their own), yet they've managed to be ranked right by him and even ahead!! So.. if MacKinnon was scouted just like the others, no years of hype or Crosby comparison, where does he land?
The thing is while you haven't heard about Barkov or Jones for as long as Nate Mack, the scouts who make these rankings have... So your question is valid if it's true that Mackinnon has had three years to impress while Barkov and Jones only have one but thats not the case all three of those players have been viewed since they were probably 14/15yo and it's the scouts who create the hype

Yeah, I thought about that after I posted it but never bothered fixing it.. For the sake of argument though, if each one had been scouted for ONLY 1 YEAR, with NO hype and NO comparisons........ who goes first?

I was really tempted to pick Artturi Lehkonen at 19. I only stopped myself because he has already had a concussion and he is a bit small at 5'10-11ish. The kid looks like he could be a hard working star though if he can stay healthy.

I went with Bo Horvat because he reminds me very much of Shane Doan, a hard working leader who can do everything. Phoenix will love him. He is used on a shutdown line on a deep London team, but still manages to get a ppg. He scores on most of the chances he gets. I expect his numbers to explode next season when he is on a scoring line.

Vancouver is looking to move up in the 3rd round from 89th overall. Am willing to include any picks later depending on how much higher up the offer is.

I still think Mackinnon and Jones are in a class of their own... As for who goes first I think that they'll both be franchise guys and are both at a close enough level that honestly it'll probably come down to team need... If you want me to pick one though I'll say Mackinnon

Doesn't beat Montreal getting Nichuskin, Nurse, Duclair, and Zykov +the next 4 picks in the top three rounds!

Beautiful draft for Montreal thus far... but keep in mind you traded Galy, and that's not a small loss!!

Yeah, well that's obvious. I added a future shutdown center in Scott Laughton to make up for him, although it's not really even close. I also got Paajarvi who I feel will turn it around under the right coaching staff

Just a thought, San Jose picks next, and they were autoed last time, so, we might get one here.

Yeah, it bothers me that so many have "given up" on Paajarvi already. He's a fantastic player, he just needs to be given the right opportunity... and I think that could actually work in Montreal. Edmonton has no proper place for him considering their current top-6, Montreal has more space to work with and that'll benefit him.

As for Laughton, I don't see him being anything more than a 3rd line centre.. which was part of the reason I traded him to you. Philly already has a great list of centres; Giroux, Schenn, Couturier, Read, Briere, Talbot... Laughton was expendable and allowed us to pick up a fantastic young d-man in Subban!

I was thinking about trading for Paajarvi to add to the panthers myself. I think Paajarvi is going to turn it around soon.

On another note, I believe the Sharks are up now. The Sharks were auto-ed last time and the owner hasn't posted since he claimed the sharks. Do we wait the full five hours still?
Edit: ControlPuck beat me to the punch

Haha, well I don't expect him to be. Will never put up any big point seasons, but will shine in the playoffs. I love the kid, plays physical, with heart, and has some skill too. I gained Meszaros too, who I don't think is too-too much of a downgrade from Subban

The Vancouver Canucks acquire the 65th Overall and D prospect Joel Chouinard from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for the 89th Overall, 119th Overall, and 209th Overall picks.

If we're gonna auto for San Jose, I'd say either one of Comrie/Martin, or Mirco Muller. What do you say?

Get
108th

Gets
140th
145th

----------------
I'm going to be busy in the fourth.
Blues have the 107, 108, and 109th picks and the Panthers own 110th.
