Yeah ... It was a real travesty the way he sucked himself right out of town

Good riddance. That goes for Corvo and Kaberle too.

He had a bad year in 2010.

Year before, he had 50 pts and was a +32.

You're right about the Norris trophy, even Bobby Orr didn't win the Norris in his rookie year...but won the next 8 Norris trophies in a row.

He had a bad year in 2010 and a bad year every year since ... Good to cut bait when we did. Wideman's ship has sailed.

Greener pastures ahead (and presently) for us

Can we have a dedicated thread about the powerplay? Haha it must give Julien nightmares. He just can't fix it.

Nice win though.

Sooooo outside of that, Bourque sort of sucks. A lot of raw talent, but he strikes me as not fitting into the team makeup so well. And if he's not improving the PP, I'm not sure what he's for.

It can only be a good thing that without our best player potting goals and an entire line ******** the bed, we're still securing 7 out of a possible 8 points
I agree; however, I don't want to get my hopes up too high. Problem is that the way things usually turn out, as soon as the 3rd line and Seguin break out of their funk, the first line and Marshmont will go cold. We rarely get extended periods when our offense is firing on all cylinders. Compared to most other teams, we do have more of a cushion against individual or even line-wide slumps, but we're just as susceptible to those slumps, throughout the season (I know you know this; I'm just rambling on at this point...).

Lol Bourque.

Oh well, as long as were winning it's fine. The third line needs to do something though.

Yeah it really was the 2009 season the last time every line was clicking. I'm hopeful for this year since we have better players (minus Savvy) and more experienced vets now. So it can happen. I'm really only worried about injuries.

I would not be opposed to switching Seguin and Horton in an attempt to get Tyler going. Him missing that empty netter all but confirmed that he's snake bit. I'm not worried of course... the offense will come and it's not due to any lack of trying on Seguin's part.. It's definitely all in his head.

That 2009 team was fun to watch. The Savard/Kessel combination was ridiculous.

It's a shame they pooped the bed against the canes....immature team =/

Just in from the game.

Bergy's goal was a beauty.

Soupy had an excellent game

Dougie can stay here

Best 4th line in the NHL. Dan Paille gives 100 % every shift

Honestly think the B's can play better. They kind of played down to the Islanders but 2 points and there were some good things in this game.

Yeah, I'm not worried at all about #19. Missing a wide-open net is a classic sign of offensive blue-ballitis, usually an acute, temporary condition according to the Diagnostic Manual of Hockey Disorders. The third line could prove to be a more chronic issue, something worthy of referral to Dr. Chiarelli.

Thought the B's were playing down to the competition for the first two periods and then the Islanders were probably worn down in the 3rd after playing last night.

Not an impressive win, but the two points are all that matters.

Oh, and always funny to watch Boston's 1st liner drop the other team's scrub who's only there to fight.
