It's not a well thought out plan.
Don't believe it was/is Murray's plan.

The team as a whole didn't play well, Bishop was just part of the mess.

I dont know your team that well, but I dont understand why Bishop gets so many chances but Lehner dont?
The Kid just made a 40 save Shoutout in the AHL tonight .... We have to many golie and Lehner is the only one wavers extemps so we need to trade Bish before he see's NHL action full time

Lehner is a victim of his two way contract.

I am sure that nobody thought that Bishop was going to suck this badly. They were probably hoping to showcase him, and generate interest.

Time for plan B.

I have no idea.

He was clearly better than Benoit.

Does he play on the opposite side?

That's what Lundin is for.

You're using the whole give him a break he hasn't played in 2 weeks, meanwhile Anderson hadn't played for months and yet he got a 4-1 win. Bishop let in 3x more goals in 1 game than Anderson did.

But keep holding up lehner getting a shutout in the NHL as proof that Bishop is garbage. But I do agree, I wish Bishop was gone so Lehner could sit on the bench and only play 5 more games this year. WAY better for his development.
Good plan, while Lehner owns the AHL the Sens can't rest Anderson and hope to win.

Ugly, ugly night. Everybody was weak tonight and Bishop wasn't the guy to steal us a game as Andy might have.

I'd rather have Lehner up and let him and Andy split a fair amount of games than keep him in the minors and toss him into our starting role when Andy leaves. He needs to get up here at some point and get some real games under his belt, but I don't think it's fair to wait just to toss him to the wolves.

The Senators were skating in mud in the third. No big deal. Ups and downs, good fun... all part of the season.

It's not like Andy is gone or anything, we'll see his sweet pads in net on Sunday.

On a positive note Turris and Alfie played a great game, and Borocop looks like he will be a fine defensive partner to Wiercioch. Benoit can go eat some nachos in the press box till Lundin is ready.

Phillips and Gonchar i have no problem with. However I have a problem with them playing together. They just do not work together.

Benoit

Bishop wasn't great but he had 0 luck as well. Just not a game for goalies.

Spezza needs to show up 5 on 5. Hes not generating much offense.

Turris continues to be our best forward.

it certainly is.

however, benoit needs to learn the simple game of keeping the puck in the zone which he was unable to do on various occasions. It looked like the puck was a hand grenade for him tonight.

After his public flogging on Sparks Street, of course.

Anderson is far superior to Bishop in terms of goalie skill.

Also notice how much better the TEAM plays in front of Anderson instead of Bishop? A good goalie instills confidence in the team

Let me go against he grain here and say Bishop gets a pass on this one. He hasn't played in awhile and they shouldn't have kept Lehner around that long after camp and split all those reps between 3 goalies in a shortened season.

Bishop's rebound control is usually pretty good compared to tonight. There's obviously a lot of rust there. If Mac wanted to get him a game, he should have given it to him against the awful Panthers' roster.

Do you hold Sergei Gonchar to the same standards as Erik Karlsson? How about Zack Smith and Spezza?

Of course not. I expect more of Anderson, as we all should. There is a reason one is an NHL starter and the other isnt. That means Anderson gets less excuses when he plays bad...because he is a better player.

Agreed.

Why throw him in against the Bolts? They have a pretty loaded offence.
