No disrespect to him, but Bishop is simply not a NHL goalie. He's a very good AHL goalie. I don't know why everyone thinks he's a reasonable backup. Sure, he won some AHL games this year and had a good SV%, but he's never done anything in the NHL, not with St. Louis and not with us. We got lucky when he stood in for Anderson last year and turned out a couple decent games.
"Bishop has never done anything in the NHL for us!
When he did stuff for us last year (the only time we have played him) it was luck!"

People expected our (mediocre) D corps to be good. People now freaking out because D corps had a bad game against a high-offence team. Bishop wasn't the only problem tonight, guys.
It's not even that, it's that the veterans are playing down to the level of Boro/Wier/Benoit.
They're supposed to be propping up this patchwork defense, instead a few of them are doing no better than the callups.
You have a winning combo and you make unnecessary lineup changes especially on D. That rarely works out. Many said that this was the wrong game to showcase Bishop. It would have been better in the first game when the team is fresher. It's surprising that Stache rested Anderson so early in the season. IMO Stache played against the odds.
Too bad but it's pretty obvious the best goalie tandem would be Anderson / Lehner and now at least in the short term, Bishop's trade value has gone down the toilet.
ONE GAME. Jesus christ, I see the lockout hasnt done anything to cure the bipolar nature of this board. You people cant seriously be like this in real life...can you?
I agree... but this game was also a tester to see about our current NHL depth. There were some flaws shown.
Ugly, ugly night. Everybody was weak tonight and Bishop wasn't the guy to steal us a game as Andy might have.
I'd rather have Lehner up and let him and Andy split a fair amount of games than keep him in the minors and toss him into our starting role when Andy leaves. He needs to get up here at some point and get some real games under his belt, but I don't think it's fair to wait just to toss him to the wolves.
We didn't need the game stolen. We were up by 2 goals...twice. Remember?
Borowiecki played 12:17 tonight. Let's not get too crazy here. Its not too difficult to look great vs BJ Crombeem, Adam Hall and Tom Pyatt as opposed to Phillips and Gonchar's 21+ minute night vs Stamkos, Lecavelier and St. Louis. We need another top 4 D. Phillips would look really good playing 18 minutes or so on that 3rd pair and 1st PK.
Seems like some of you are relishing the fact that Bishop had a bad game. You do realize it's in the best interests of the TEAM that he plays well so the TEAM can trade him for something of value, right?
It's like your all offended that he's denied your man-crush Lehner his rightful spot wearing a ball cap on the bench...
Relax, Bishop isn't in the long term plans of this team. We need him to find his game (he's not this bad) so we can get value for him.
I blame this loss on the coach as you don't play Bishop against a team that has Stamkos, Malone, Lecavalier, St.Louis and Hedman. Andy is riding a hot streak and they put Bishop in, I realize that they want to showcase him but his value just dropped after this game. This was 2 points lost that could come back to bite them down the road as we should have had a point and if Andy was in I think we win this game.
This was a reality check as the Sens are not that good against teams that can forecheck and our aging D is showing in Philips & Gonchar
Probably a good thing as they now realize that you can't win with playing Benoit & Boro together. When does Lundin come back?
