I think gray is the theme this season. The trainers/equipment guys on the bench have gray gear as well.

His rebound control has been excellent, and that's the reason he was not good early last year from what I remember. Even back in the day he was rusty looking. I remember him being rusty for much of the first half of the 48 game 95 season. Some people probably gave him a hard time for the second goal, but he was screened heavily on that one.

Regardless we can't expect him to bail us out every night. Some games there will be defensive breakdowns, or Marty might be off which happens to every goalie, and player. Those are the games we'll need more goals.

Yeah don't you remember that dive right before the breakout that led to the Kovy winner?

I still think we could have won this game 2-0 if not for all the penalties. I could see the Caps possibly scoring 1 late in the game.

We absolutely had this game locked up before those penalties. We started slow, but we took serious control of the game from the end of the first onward.

Caps really are a complete mess right now. He was moved back to LW to "make him happy" and that did a whole lot of nothing. Ya they got a point, but that point has to feel pretty empty considering all those PPs, including two 5 on 3s and they could only come away with one goal. That is pretty terrible.

We definitely would of locked this in regulation if we were more disciplined, we were locking the game down up until that point, and even after the first few penalties we were still shutting them down with the PK, and came really close to scoring a shortie too. We just gave them WAY to much leeway.

Not sure how anyone can think Barch is more competent than Cam. Barch didn't even touch the puck tonight for Christ sakes. Cam is no all star by any means and I don't want him on the ice in key situations, but people talk like every time he's on the ice a goal is scored against us. He brings more to the table than people give him credit for. He hits and doesn't take stupid penalties, and that's really all you can ask of a player in his role.

Hey guys, Rangers fan coming in peace. Congrats on the win (but not really ).

I was willing to give you guys a break since it happened at an intense point in the game, but now that the game's over, has no one brought up the classic Chico moment that just occurred?

Chico: Most people think Crosby won the Calder, but of course he didn't...and obviously everyone knows who beat him.

Steve: Enlighten me!

Chico: MALKIN!!!

*awkward silence for about 10 seconds as everyone realizes that Chico was completely wrong*

Maybe it actually wasn't as funny as I thought, but my brother (Devils fan) and I were hysterically laughing for quite a while.

First period was a toss up, Yayo made a glorious play to set up our only goal.

Second period was in our favor, not domination but we dictated play.

Third we got into penalty trouble and gift wrapped them a point.

OT we had an early PP, Kovy eventually picked a corner on a sick shot.

Oh Chico, I missed you so much during the lockout...always good for the lolz.

The real funny thing is he's not an airhead when you just put him in an analyst role before/after the game and he has time to gather his thoughts, but when he has to think and talk on the fly he becomes Ted Baxter.

I think it has some to do with Steve trying to gel with Chico's "style" of commentating. We do have a thread somewhere of ongoing "Chico-isms"

Oh man, nothing will ever be better than Chico Eats. The Cotton candy one was ridiculously NSFW, surprised they let that on the air

The best part of it was that they were just explaining that Ovi won the Calder the year that Ovechkin, Crosby, and Malkin were all elgible.

I really love Yayo on the PK. He was a threat in Albany during the lockout, and he was a threat tonight. I think our PK has rebounded pretty good from the playoffs. We're 16 for 18, but one was the two man advantage tonight.

It's not easy to replace Parise on the PK, but Yayo is looking like a good start. And then when Henrique comes back, oooh baby.
