I don't understand why everyone is quick to throw Hörnqvist in trade proposals. He fills a niche on the team the same way Holmström did for the Wings for so many years. He also has been one of Nashville's highest goal scorers the past three seasons. He is great at what he does with fairly limited ice time. Trading Hörnqvist is not the answer to Nashville's offensive issues.

Here are some guys we could possibly look to target:
Bobby Ryan
Evander Kane
Sam Gagner
Teddy Purcell
Clarke MacArthur
It is really dependent on whether Poile is willing to go all out to address our offensive woes or not. If he is his usual conservative self then we have no hope of challenging for the cup. We need to make a move.

Honestly Ryan and Kane would really be the only upgrades there. Maybe Gagner. I wouldn't mind any of those guys on the team, but MacArthur and Purcell just seem like more of the same.

Purcell had 65 points last season. But I agree him and MacArthur would be at the bottom of that list. One I didn't mention was Jarome Iginla, who could be a possible option, though it is likely he stays with the Flames.

I always forget about Purcell. Like I said I wouldn't mind anybody off that list I'd just prefer some over others.
Can you guys tell me if the Preds are more in need of a forward or defenseman?
Since they lost Suter, I realize that they'll replace him by committee but I was just wondering...
Forward. Our D group of Weber, Josi, Klein, Hannan, Gill, and Ellis are doing fine, with Blum and Bartley as fine injury fill-ins. Our forwards....not so much.
Josi has stepped up big time to fill in for Suter.
Just play the young guys a little more this year this year is the perfect moment for having growing pains. I know Smith hasn't been that great but under five minutes surely isn't a good way to get him going again is it? We all know what Fisher and others bring, let's focus on making younger guys permanent fixtures to our team.
Even if we somehow make the playoffs, this team has no chance of going deep because our offense just doesn't have the scoring.
Even though this is said every year I'm sure a lot of you will agree. Usually there will be a carousal of players getting hot and we end up scoring around 3 goals a game. We really need a line to step up and pot some goals for us.
We really need a forward who is a game breaking talent and a threat up front on a nightly basis. Someone with creativity and skills. Someone who can finish a nice deke, nice pass, and nice shot. Something we have not had since Kariya. Something that Anaheim has 4 of, Chicago has 4/5 of, NYR has 4/5 of, EDM has 4 of, etc...
