Ya Lupul and his (lol) $5M/yr contract can stay in Toronto.

We'll keep Hall, thanks.

You get a shot at Hall, you take it. This is equivalent to MTL offering Bourque and Beaulieu.

Lupul had his career year last season, period. He wasn't about to repeat this season, and he probably won't repeat in the future. He's nowhere close to being a #1 LW.

Lupul is over rated and over paid.

Gardiner may turn into a fine defense man but hes not worth Taylor Hall.

Gardiner and Kadri would net you Hall.

Taylor Hall is not being traded, why does there has to be like 5 threads in a week involving him?

Under contract for 7 years after this year, and IMO will be captain within 2 years. The guy is going nowhere, simply because you only trade players like this if you a) are forced to, or b) you get I've piece back of equal value.

The players the Oilers would trade Hall for in a 1-for-1 trade are also not available.

Edmonton adds?

Please explain what makes you think Lupul + Gardiner has more value than Hall?

Considering 50% of Lupul's career have been an injury filled hot mess.

Not to mention post-concussion Gardiner...

Not that I disagree with you but hall hasn't been the healthiest guy himself...

If the Leafs are going to trade Gardiner, they need to go after a young #1 Centre. I don't think Edmonton would ever do it, as their expendable depth is on the wing, not at centre. Perhaps at the draft depending on position.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins for Grabovski and Gardiner.

Didn't your youngest, brightest spot on defence recently get sent down to the minors for playing poorly? I'm legitimately curious, I don't know anything about it.

Conditioning stint.

He just came off a concussion.

Just to clear some things up. Hall, Eberle, RNH, Yakupov and Schultz are not available.

No Lupul was almost as useless here as he was in Edmonton. So essentially he was a cap dump.

Aside from some glimpses, Beauchemin has been better than Gardiner so far (his play with us anyway). If Gardiner develops into a top pair defenseman than it will hurt more.

No what has Duck fans more irritated about it than anything is the fact that Murray let him walk and then gave up assets to trade for him when he could have just re- signed him.

No one would trade Hall for Gardiner and Lupul. And come on Leafs fans a chance at a player that can create 30 goals on his own and is still defensively sound is a lot better than a player that needs Kessel and creates one of the worst defensive lines in hockey. In addition Gardiner hasn't shown he can keep it up and is coming off a concussion.

With the other defenseman Leafs have this trade would of been made yesterday today last year, next year etc. unless Hall sustains a career threatening injury...

He ran himself out. He couldn't deal with the fishbowl environment coupled with the fact he was from Ft Sask.

And I'm surprised many haven't said Edmonton adds. With all the vitriol spat at the Oilers and Hall [injury prone, stupid, not as good as Seguin], you would think many would say Lupul+Gardiner for Hall and first

No need for EDM to do this trade. Yes, we had a bad game against SJ but that is all part of the learning process of being young. The next game EDM came back and beat LA. When you have Hall, RNH, Eberle and Yak that are all game changers and are the type of players that you want out on the ice when you are down by a goal you don't give them up for players that can't do that.

With the addition of Fistric I am happy with EDM's dmen. They are also just coming into their own and I wouldn't give that up.

I am happy as and EDM fan to just stand pack and see how this season goes. Then we can see what we have to do to improve for next year.

We will have a 1st, two 2nds and prospects that we can use to get what we need to improve. Our two oldest players in the top 6 are Gagner 23 and Hemsky 28. The rest are 22 and younger.

I don't understand the point of this thread. Kadri and Gardiner are already on their way to Vancouver for Luongo, no?

In all seriousness, Taylor Hall would likely warrant more than Gardiner and Lupul. Lupul has a dubious contract that is mostly based on one decent year. The guy has had some horrid seasons.

I am not a big Hall fan either. Eberle, RHN are in a different category than he is. I suspect Hall will be a solid top 6 player, but never a superstar. Eberle and RHN on the other hand......

No, they wouldn't.

Toronto has no player(s) who match what Hall will bring to the Oilers.

Pick first overall this year and see how quick you are to trade away said player.
