Gardiner+Kulemin to Philadelphia

Two young guys that fit in our plans long term. Lotta injurys lately and a roster shakeup could really help as well.
What would it take?

Well, it has been almost 8 months since the last huge roster shake-up in Philly. You're about due.

I would think Brayden Schenn would be a very good starting point. Probably about equivalent value to Gardiner, so add something for Kuley

Could Voracek be a starter?

Our team has looked pretty bad thus far. I understand it's early, but I don't see us fairing well long term with our slow defense. It looks like they're skating through molasses.

We would have to add to Kuli for Voracek, if Gardiner was added, you'd have to add substantially.

I disagree.

Any interest in Danny Briere?

Couturier is equal to kadri and gardiner combined.

Your a clown. Why would you post a trade on the main boards if your not going to be realistic about it? Voracek or Briere would not be the starter, it would start with B.Schenn or Couturier +.

My guess is that if this trade were to actually happen it would be something like Gardiner+Kulemin for B.Schenn + Laughton

Why would the Leafs, a rebuilding team, want an old injured Briere?

Do you want Lupul for Couturier + Schenn

Please explain. Both couturier and Gardiner played there rookie season last year and Gardiner put up more points as a defenseman. Why would we add substantially?

Centres are of greater need to us Imo.

Two teams in the same conference trading futures.

Flyers are as high on Coutourier as the Leafs are on Gardiner. Never gonna be good trading partners.

Although I would admit it would be hilarious to see B Schenn in the blue and white after all the hoopla with Luke.

Hmmm... it seems difficult to substantiate that sentence given the small sample size of all 3 players.

Gardiner and Kulemin would require one of either Couturier or B.Schenn coming back with something else. I understand that both players are currently untouchable with Flyers management and for that reason, something like this likely wouldn't get done.

Gardiner and Kulemin are pretty much untouchable for the Leafs.

Trading Kulemin away would be like when we traded Steen away. We better get something good for him if he has to go, not another Stempniak.

I'm not sure that the Leafs have any "untouchables" right now. This is a team under new management and I'm sure I don't need to tell you or anyone else how long it's been since we've seen a playoff game. I have to believe that for the right price anyone on our roster could be available.

Competitive teams like the Flyers, Pens, Kings, etc... can afford to throw around terms like "untouchable", floundering teams cannot.

For clarity, I'm not suggesting that the Leafs host a fire sale. We're a team that needs to improve - and any trade that accomplishes this gets done regardless of the name on the back of the sweater.

Couturier is getting really overrated on these boards..

Gardiner has more value to a young Leafs team than he does to the Flyers. Sending a veteran defenceman to Philly would make more sense for both teams.
