I guess that makes the most sense. Someone's going to ask for a big contract.

Right? I wonder if they could try it in his second year in Peoria...See how he handles it.

Finished with 2G & 1A and as the first star. Now 31-39-70 in 37 games.

Yannick Veilleux got a goal and was the third star.

I thought he played all three forward positions? Besides, I think once he signs this summer the blues will make him a center. Whether he makes the Blues or plays in Peoria. JMO

He's a LW who can also play RW but I'm not aware of him playing center anytime lately and if he's not playing center now the odds he plays center in the pros is extremely small. The Blues could use a center but Jaskin is a winger.

Eesh. Nah. Landeskog is quicker and is more of a two-way player. They don't look similar on the ice to me. Jaskin is more like a watered down Hossa or a tough Franzen. Andrew Ladd might be a good comparison. Corey Perry a bit. He plays a bit more of a puck possession game, though, which is why guys like Hossa and Jagr get brought up.

With his 2 goal 1 assist night he is now 4th in the league in scoring. 5 points behind the leaders. He may yet lead the league in scoring. Looking at those highlights Jaskin shows sweet hands with a quick release, good vision and some creativity with the puck. If his skating is NHL caliber then he is certain to make it in the NHL. Likes to bang too. You can never have enough power forwards. Can't help but be really excited about his future.

Also, the guy leading the league in scoring has 77 points in 48 games and Jaskin has 72 in 38. The guys in 2nd and 3rd have played in 48 and 49 games, respectively.

Stating the obvious the goal in drafting I'd to bring in players that can compete and beat out who you currently have. Jaskin will have an opportunity to earn a job next season. Hopefully A Mac can stay healthy and is resigned. Jaskin would have to beat out Schwartz or he could cut his teeth on the checking line if Nichols doesn't come back and Sobotka moves to center. Actually a Reaves, Sobotka, Jaskin line sounds appealing. There would be some serious banging.

Landecog(sp?) is an excellent skater with excellent speed. Jaskin is not in his class as a skater.

Dont discount the possibility that we might have to lose Stewart to sign Petro/Shatty/Bergy. That would certainly open up a spot for Jaskin on the right side. Who knows with McDonald as well.

Hat-trick for Jaškin today. First Star of the game for the third consecutive night. 35-40-75 in 39 games now.

Veilleux with an assist (24-25-49 in 47GP).

Jaskins has gone freakin beast mode since WJC's. Seriously, what happened during the tourney? Kids playing absolutely out of his mind.

Love having all of these high end prospects in the pipeline!

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being very likely and 1 being unlikely, what are his chances of making the Blues out of camp. Seems he'd be really good replacement if a trade is needed..

The easiest way to answer that is that I don't think we would have any problems with him playing opening night next season. If we aren't worried about Schwartz, then we won't be worried about Jaškin.

Whether that will happen depends on what happens with the roster over the summer. If we trade for LHD, then that will probably create a spot for him.

I could see him replacing Stewart next year because of Stewart's contract. Probably more like 2014. Does Jaskin play LW or RW? Also, what is Jaskin's size? I know he's a decent size kid. 6'3 200 ?

It's really hard to project something like that until we get some viewings of him playing the game at the AHL level.

Let's not forget his struggles in the men's Czech league just last year. I think it's premature to consider him a legit NHL roster option next year.

6'3", 210.

He can play either wing, in the Czech Republic he played a lot of RW, but more time on LW in Moncton and for the Czech team at the WJC's.

I think this is where the luxury of 3 scoring lines comes in though, we can put players in a good situation without having to rely on them.

What happened last season was a failing with both Jaškin and Slavia. He was on a poor team, got off to a rough start and started getting bad minutes and his confidence took a real hit. The coach was critical of him publicly, questioning his conditioning and commitment. Looking back, I suspect that he needed some encouragement more than anything because that wasn't an issue before last season or at all this season.

I agree that we'd like to look at him in the AHL first, but I don't think we'd be afraid to use him in the NHL.

Now 2 points behind the league scoring leader. Jaskin had 8 shots all on goal and lead the team in hits. He is dominating the Q.

Look out below...I think we have a jumper.... I think he will surprise and take a spot out of camp. Schwartz better be on his game. He may get passed, if a spot isn't there.
