O'Reilly is better, almost a decade younger, and will be cheaper than Cammalleri. No way.

If Colorado is more interested in picks and prospects, that's understandable but don't see a better 1 for 1 offer coming your way. The kid looks like he's got the potential to be a superstar but he's still unproven. If the Avs management was that certain he was a can't miss, he'd already be locked up long term. If Colorado wants a better winger, straight up, you have to sign O'Reilly and trade Duchene or Stastny

Yikes.
Adding Sven would not even get it done for me.
Cammy is not even in the same stratosphere valuewise right now with his play and his contract.
If you don't see a better 1 for 1 offer coming our way, we better overpay him and keep him and let him walk as UFA if his new contract is up.

Turrrible!

And there in lies the problem. We don't want a Winger, we want a Dman. I also believe we could a much better 1 for 1 then Mike Cammaleri.

Giordano has to be on the table from Calgary if were moving Oreilly.

Yeah, um...somehow I think we would get better offers than your 6m per year one dimensional winger who has not had more than 50 points since 2008/9. O'Reilly is younger, better offensively, and far better defensively. Ignoring the awful value, if we won't pay a superior player in O'Reilly 5m per year, do you actually think we would even consider paying an inferior player in Camalleri 6m? Oh, and how would we have to trade Duchene or Stastny.

I only see Colorado being interest in Giordano from Calgary, and in that case it wouldn't be worth it from a Calgary perspective

If he scores on a pace of 40 goals again maybe in the off season.

While Cammy isn't exactly worthless, he isn't worth the same as O'Reilly. As mentioned before the Avs want wingers, they will want Baertschi at least.

I don't know about this right here. I love O'Reilly, but he's pissing me off with his contract demands and for all we know could even be demanding 5/year, nobody knows.

Sven is a great prospect, most likely Calgary's best. If a deal was O'Reilly for Baertschi + another asset I'd do it from the Avs' perspective, if it was known that O'Reilly would not sign (granted the asset would not be huge, maybe a depth player or a late pick). Gives the Avs a chance to, not replace, but find someone who can come in and take Hejduk's top 6 spot when he retires because I for one believe David Jones should be playing on the 3rd line.

Landeskog-Duchene-Parenteau
McGinn-Stastny-Baertschi
Hejduk-Mitchell-Jones
McLeod-Olver-Kobasew

I like it, and if the Duke retires this season Downie could step into the 3rd line again next year when he recovers from injury. It would absolutely suck having to play against O'Reilly so much as he'd be in the division, but Baertschi looks preeeettyy good to me

Cammalleri at his salary level is waiver wire material at the moment. He needs to score a few goals to have some value. At worst, he needs to show up for a few shifts a game and look like a guy who cares. As it is, I wouldn't want him on my team (cue the apologists).
