It's ok now, but the 48 hours blackouts are killing me.

i know they use IP location to determine blackouts but im watching wings/wild on my xbox. Had a couple of wee issues (which seem resolved) with buffering so went to watch it on my laptop to be met with a blackout screen? fine on xbox, blackout on laptop. Weird.

Based on this thread many posters have the same experience, same with tablets. Need to get myself a tablet.

God, I wish people would at least casually browse this thread before posting what has been repeated and explained at least 20 times already on previous pages...
Indeed, every page has the same questions.

I'd like to know how he learned to use stealty, but not to shut it off as soon as the game starts as has been stated in every post regarding stealthy.

Also people, not sure if anyone cares but Hockey Night in Canada will be releasing an XBOX app soon that will play all of their games.

No 48-hour blackouts here (your neighbouring country), even blacked-out games are promptly available in full-length replays: within a couple of hours, or sometimes within minutes (!) from game completion.

Also, on a traditional computer/laptop, you can easily avoid a blackout with a touch of a button (Stealthy plugin for Firefox/Chrome).

Trying to watch 3 year old games right now and none will come up. So annoying.

The free Stealthy plug in right? No need to buy the upgrade?

Stealthy is free for Options 3 and 4, and you need Option 4 here. It loads with Option 3 activated by default, so make sure to switch to Option 4, then pick a non-hockey country. Switch off Stealthy completely as soon as the game loads.

Just an update - I had posted this in the second part of this thread a while ago:

Quote:
I am looking at the Sony BDP-S590 as a potential device for NHLGCL. It says that it supports the NHL Vault, but does that include GCL? The GCL site states that Sony devices are supported... any first hand experience there?
It turns out it only supports the NHL Vault, and NOT GCL at the moment. Apparently the NHL is trying to get the SONY apps out by the end of January, so maybe soon?

Dont know why, but NHL GCL suddenly unblock games that must be under blackout in Ukraine...For example Sharks - Avs and Ducks - Preds (waiting for video feed). No blackout banners.

So what you're saying is one can watch *full game replays* of their local team? I'd be pissed if I spent 50 bucks to find out that wasn't the case.

Because of the TV rights of our broadcaster. After one week of blackouts they unblock all games...

I hope this is not a bug...

You can but it has to be after 48 hours (if the game was shown locally on your TV), or you use a VPN service to get around it as above posters have mentioned.

They must come to their senses sooner or later. It's outrageous to be blacking out anything at all in Europe. The NHL as a purely North-American league should consider itself flattered anyone from Europe is interested in that league, despite no European team playing in it. Punishing and harassing your paying customers -- from a different continent, no less -- is never a good idea.

Not true, at least not here. Live games blacked out in my area are available in full-length replays within a couple of hours, sometimes within minutes (!) from game completion. No difference to games that were not blacked out live.

Your mileage may vary, I guess depending where you are, but for example trying to watch the Devils game that happened last night I get this. Who knows if this is because MSG/MSG+ are still showing the replays.

You and me both. It's a good thing though, because I'm not paying for Premier Sports.

I'm hoping they've accidently removed blackouts but done more than one area by mistake.

Indeed the one thing that always shocked me was you can just VPN past the initial screen and then drop the VPN and continue.

Hey Gamecenter fans. Go and request and then vote for Gamecenter to be added to the Hola! service, which gets by the regions locks of sites like Netflix:

Haven't been able to watch a single ranger game on GCL due to the asinine blackout restrictions. Some people don't have cable, NHL, why the **** are games on NHLnetwork and VS. blacked out. I can somewhat understand NBC and local broadcasts, but ******* I live more than 8 hours away from NYC, let me watch the ******* Rangers.

Well, just push the button and watch them.

(You're right, of course, that treating your online customers on a different continent in this way, because of separate dealings with obscure/expensive/unavailable European premium TV channels, is arrogant to the highest degree.)
