29th? Latest draft rankings have them finishing dead last to draft jones.

He'll re-sign with the Habs methinks, when all the dust settles.

Makes the most sense to me. I don't see why the Habs would trade him.

I think he'll sign for 4.5M. Both meet somewhere in the middle.

That is hardly the case. Teams that would like to have him like Philly, Edmonton and Toronto come up with foolishness like that. It's propaganda to help them obtain a top pairing defenceman for nothing.

I think the magic number is below 5.75M/year. ie. below Markov's cap-hit on a 4-6 year deal. If its less than 4 years then he would likely get 4-5million / season. I think that's where they will find a compromise. Pure speculation of course.

Will be interesting to see what kind of trade value Montreal thinks he has after they have refused to offer him a market value contract.

From a Bruins perspective, not to mince or mingle words, this is what I think Pernell would be worth in a trade.

Kelly, 1st round pick.

Coupled with the fact that if you look at the 2013 UFA market there are minimal top-pairing defencemen talent or options. Which is why fans of certain teams are salivating like dirty filthy hyenas.

I would go heavy for subban, leverage or not.

Jensen + Hansen + 1st for a signed subban.

Why would you think that from a Bruins perspective?

How about any 2 (only one of Morrow or Pouliot) to the Habs and a 1st round pick but I think there will be better deals on the table for PK.

That's laughable from a Habs POV. A signed PK Subban would be a Hab period.

It's Subban who is holding out, not MTL.

No GM is going to offer full value for him because they may as well just offersheet him if that's the case.

If MTL is just gonna match a $5.5/6M offersheet, then what's the hold up?

Take a look at the compensation table for offer sheets around the $5M mark. That is what Subban's value is.

Do you not get it, it's a "sign and trade", a signed subban ONLY for vancouver, you guys won't and can't sign him right now.

The habs are about 5 years and 3 mil+ in money away from him right now.

What does Morrow or Pouliot bring over the plethora of young promising prospect dmen we have in our system? Beaulieu, Tinordi, Ellis, Thrower...

The first round pick will be a late one. This is awful for the Habs. The Pens have nothing that they would be willing to trade that would entice the Habs.

Canucks have their blue line filled anyways. Only way Subban comes to Vancouver is if Edler is traded. Hamhuis, Bieksa, Garrison all have NTC. Edler is looking great so far this year and is on a really good deal going forward, no point to downgrade to Subban.

In that case the answer is NO! For the same reason that its terrible value in return.

I would do bieksa + 1st for subban.

Then sign subban to a 8 year 4mil a year type deal that he wants.

I doubt bieksa would waive his NTC to montreal tho.

And then he signs an offer sheet, and the Habs are cornered into signing him as well, or letting him play.

Not a winning strategy

Subbans value is not falling due to an impasse in the negotiations. A day before Benn signed there was no-one saying they couldn't trade him. Can you imagine the Packages that Dallas would have received for him if they said he was available. It will be the same with Subban if that was the case. A young 23 year old stud on defence that has great offensive potential and plays shutdown minutes against other teams best. Subban will be signing a two year 7 million dollar deal in the near future.

wow, unlike some bruins fans, i value subban a lot more...he is a stud and i would love him on the bruins, problem is we dont have the depth on the farm and our draft pick will be high so unless we gut our forwards, we could not afford him...but yeah it would be seguin for subban + something else and no way boston would move seguin...no way i would move seguin either, but subban will fetch a very good return if he is indeed moved.
