Devils PP having two QBs like the Jets. worse we he kept rolling with it.

Best was his slight jab at the Rags with the stick salute.

Salvador is sadly not a Calder Trophy nominee for his impressive season, by the way.

Calder? Salvador? Is this a gaffe Chico made?

I like Salvador. We have a lot of prospect D's that I like. Urbom being my favorite. I would like to see him up.

Though it would be a crime not to re sign Salvador. Do you know how many goals this guy has saved this year? We'll get a good deal out of him with a low cap hit. Something reasonable. I think so at least. He takes way too many delay of game penalties by putting the puck over the glass, but usually we don't give up goals on his penalties! I think we did once I remember.

I'd like to see him, Sykora, and Moose back. This is a really good team we have this year despite having slumps, and our hard times.

Just needed a forum to show my praise for him.

I'm sure Chico meant HART Trophy, not Calder when describing Sal.

Tonight he said something that made me spit out my beer, it was along the lines of,

"They are playing more like, the 'kitty cats,' than the ferocious animal on their sweater."

Gold, Chico, gold.

I remember hearing that and was like 'I didn't know Malkin and Crosby were rookies the same year'

That awkward silence was ridiculous. I was embarrassed for Chico. But that was great.

From the good ole first game of the year

They actually were because of the lockout. Ovechkin won the Calder, which makes the Malkin comment that much dumber considering it was during a discussion about Ovi winning the Calder that year.

Malkin won the Calder the next year so he wasn't a rookie the same year as Crosby. I now remember that Ovi and Crosby both had insane Rookie seasons.

Yes, I remember it being a big story when he disappeared from his team in Magnitogorsk in the middle of the season, and then reappeared in Pittsburgh. That was definitely after the lockout because I was in college at the time.

The first time? Or the second? Might have been more, wasn't paying that close attention.

Oh everyone did. We would need another thread for all the nonsense he spewed out yesterday.

Feel it was on purpose now, but Steve calling Moose, "Moose Hedberg" got old and annoying extremely fast!

Yeah I noticed him calling Nabokov, Khabibulin. I used to call Nabokov Nabbybulin. I did it on purpose though, but I don't think Chico did.

I feel bad bagging on Chico even though he is a human blooper reel. He feels like a member of the (Devils) family since he has been affiliated with the organization on and off since their birth, and he's so darn upbeat too.

But there's going to come a point where I just mute the TV and listen to Matt and Sherry, the blooper reel does get old...especially since it's not just Chico's blooper reel.

NJDevs26,

As bad as Chico has been, I would NEVER mute the TV and turn on the Devils Broadcast to listen to Matt "He scores......5 minutes earlier" Loughlin. I'm sorry but at least Chico is funny to listen to in a train-wreck kind of way....

And Steve at least is ON-TIME with his calls even if at times he doesn't know which way is up or down....

Remember before Steve when Matt Loughlin had to fill in as play by play guy for Doc during Devils broadcasts?

Chico has some entertaining stories though. Like the one about Bylsma flying to Minnesota in the offseason to ask Paul Martin what he thinks or something.
