Yes, for example, Drew Stafford has about the same career shooting percentage as Pominville. He's got a comparable amount of shots this year (12 to JP's 15), but one player has 3 goals and the other has 0.
I've been impressed with Stafford this year, I hope puck luck starts leaning his way soon so he doesn't get discouraged and sulk around.
He takes his shots well. It'll start happening, I hope. Rest of the team needs some pep and confidence.
I thought FES was very solid in the first two periods of last nights game. I just watched in this morning, and I thought they were better with puck posession than VHP. But that's just me. And they did falter in the third.
Those lines intrigue me. Hecht could help out that 3rd line by being a consistent presence, and the 2nd line could be nasty if Grigs realizes he isn't on the 4th line anymore.
Whatever the lines are, just don't give Hecht 18+ minutes of ice time and Grigs 6+. Hecht is so limited at this stage in his career and isn't going to provide you with offense. Lindy needs to give Grigs a chance to succeed instead of just burying him on the 4th line or the bench.

Agreed. For as much ice-time as Hecht and Kaleta got, it's no wonder we only scored one goal. As per usual, Ruff was too busy worrying how he'd match up against Staal (while we were behind no less) and stopped trying to coach for offense.
I still give FES another couple games. Too early to break them up. Allow them to work through it. They were our best line in the 2nd period last night. They'll get it going soon enough. Give Grigorenko a periodic shift with Ennis-Stafford.
I'd typically agree - Ruff always jumps the gun in breaking lines up. That said, in a lockout-shortened season in which two points are more crucial than ever, I 'm okay with him giving the lines a shakeup. We need secondary scoring.
Leino has a lower body injury (quads) that's been lingering, dunno how long he'll be out.
I like the idea of Hecht with Ennis. If anyone can get Ennis to simplify and wake up, it's probably Hecht--talented centers Briere and Connolly really benefited from having him ride shotgun.
Am I the only one who thinks Ennis and Stafford have been far more of a problem than foligno, kaleta etc? I swear everytime those two break the blue line they see exactly how close to the boards/out of a good shooting angle they can get. Then stafford makes some ill-advised shot or turnover whereas ennis uses his speed to circle the net before getting cut off and losing the puck. I have seen the same monotonous motions from those 2 all year long. Foligno is certainly not producing but hes serving a purpose on d, forecheck, hitting etc.
These lines def need a shuffling and I cant believe that Im excited for leino to get back to increase our scoring depth(ik that was blasphemous).
I gotta say I was happy when we re-upped hecht but outside of game 1 hes looked completely flat.
P.S Myers is on his way to another benching, give Brennan's shot a go for a game and try to fire up Myers.
Ennis was dismal at the start of last season too. It wouldn't surprise me if half these guys had written off the season and just aren't fit enough yet. Too soon to write anyone off.

Ya not surprised to see ennis start slow, he was looking better last night outside of faceoffs
