I did a whole lot of core stuff, lots of squats including front squats but I also did everything else too. Playing hockey/football and doing lots of cardio helped me not get huge but I still had some bulk and the strength I needed for both sports. since then I no longer play sports on a regular basis and I've all but stopped doing cardio but have maintained the weight training and have consequently gained a significant amount of weight. If i were to try and play now i would be terrible relatively speaking, not just because of the rust but because of my bulk. I guess my point is everyone is different and they have to find the right balance in their workout regimen. For me it was lots of weight training and cardio most likely more so then other goaltenders.
Before I moved to wing I had a brief attempt at goal and I felt the best way to train was to drink plenty of beer I took most of the shots in pratice and loved it. For some reason my group of pals always played sports all year long. Soccer, tennis baseball and youth keep us in shape! But being serious for a moment, like you stated, everyone is different.

Not bad for "the worst starter in the league".

Wonder who gets a start tomorrow. I would guess leighton with the rags on Tuesday. I would like to be at .500 before giving him a game but for him to play a second back to back in a week is rough. Time will tell I guess.

I know you weren't serious but why is he so bad when it comes to breakaways/SO's? He's been so good at everything else but once someone is 1v1 on him, he has a brain fart.

Reading the main boards and all I see is the "Phoenix system" being used by the Bryz haters to discredit him. To me it's annoying when people use that excuse. I think playing in it definitely helps a goalie and increases their stats a little but I still think you need to have talent to succeed in it.

I noticed their backup (can't think of his name) has been getting lit up lately. I think Smith has talent also even though most will probably discredit him.

I guess where I'm going with this rant is that you can't just throw some random guy off the street and expect success just because your team runs a defensive system.

This is so dumb.

So what would make you happy then, hater? He had a one goal against game, and it wasn't just any goal, it was on a breakaway. That means you suck now. GTFOH, f'real? You're serious with that?
