If Briere is back from now and everything goes ok, that may be bad news for Laughton.

I'm really not a Briere fan by any stretch but even i will admit it will be nice having him back in the line-up.

And by bad news you mean good news for his future right?

How is it 'good news' for laughton?

He's shown he belongs in the NHL.

Sending him down would be like the Oilers leaving Yakupov down there.

It would be nice for him to develop his offense in juniors a little more.

He's had a good bit of chances the last few days

Look at the goalies he's played against.

Good goalies.

I think Laughton should be sent down, he makes me feel old.

Terrible comparison there. Yakupov dominated the O for 2 seasons. He had nothing left to prove there, which is why he went back to the KHL during the lockout.

Laughton has held his own through 4 games thus far, but so did Sbisa. He needs to dominate a level instead of getting 4th line minutes with no special teams work. There's no need to mortgage this kid's future to fill a small hole in the lineup.

What's in the first post is a guess but here's Sam's, too:

Probable lines: Simm-G-Read; Briere-Coot-Vor; Schenn-Laughton-Knuble; Talb-Fed-McGinn.

Three things.

1) I see good things of that top line.
2) I refuse to accept Knuble as anything other then a PP net presence.
3) Talbot and Feds are finally on the fourth line together. Thank Gawd.

100% agreed on everything.

Also according to twitter D pairings are:

Timonen-Schenn
Coburn-Gervias
Grossmann-Foster

Timonen suggested it, since he wanted 3 RH guys on all 3 pairings.

That 3rd pairing looks like it could be a disaster tonight.

Always happy when people agree with me.

I actually like the d-men pairings. With Mez out its either spread our top three guys out to anchor each pairing or stack the first two and leave an abominable third. I prefer the former and it seems like they went with that.

Forgot for a second that we signed Knuble. Saw him in the lines and got confused.

That was my first thought. At least they have size on their side.

@BroadStBull: Looks like Fleischmann will play for #Panthers. He was questionable because of a cut foot. #Flyers

Briere and Schenn should be playing center. Or maybe Briere on G's wing.

How do you propose Briere plays center if he can't take faceoffs?
