AHL? Biggest reason is probably that he hadn't been playing for half the season, and had just came back when the CBA was signed. Had the season started as scheduled, he surely would have been an invite to camp at minimum.

I'm not saying he's ready, or that he isn't, just that the circumstances would have made it extremely difficult to justify giving him a shot in a shortened season.

I'm one of the people who wasn't very impressed with his 11-12 season. Sure the circumstances were not on his side this year with the concussion, but I'm not sure there would have been a lot to get excited about otherwise.

He just needs seasoning.

So what 'Stache is saying is that Regin is another Zib?

There is no duo no the team that shows more chemistry than spezza and alfie. Don't care that alfie is older and may have lost half a step, he still flies around out there and is as smart as anyone. i would never break them up unless absolutely necessary.

I'm not the coach yet, but i'm pretty sure that top line would be dynomite. And look how close to Heatley-Spezza-Alfie it is.

The second line is a question mark but it's worth a shot. i could see it working ok.
I'd do this now

I would too. I think Turris and Silfverberg would be gold together. With that being said, I wouldn't wanna quit Spezza with Silfv yet, Spezza just needs to find him some more and we will be seeing a lot more goals, trust me.

I really really enjoy the neil-smith-greening line. Lots of size and grit.

It would be nice to give them more time but we don't have it. Personally i've seen enough, for now, to try the swap. Not just for the sake of change but because i think it might be better in the long run anyway. Can always go back.
But we know spezza and alfie together are magic, and we can guess that silfv and turris would be too. I want to see it.

And yeah, i thought regin looked much better at center.

Hope to see bishop in net tomorrow. The more he plays and wins the more his value grows. No hurry to trade him, but he needs to play too.

What if we kept Turris and Alfie's chemistry and try Silf on the left side.

Latendresse-Spezza-Michalek
Silfverberg-Turris-Alfie

That 2nd line would be great, they all have amazing shots, and are all defensively responsible.

yeah, that's what i'd like to try, if silf is comfortable with it.

They facing Tampa next. Spezza goes off against them so I'd give them that game at least.

Well getting spezza-alfie magic going was the point. Did anyone notice michalek with spezza tonight? Neither did i. Personally i think it's a **** combo. Michalek should be on line 2.

* Latendresse fits better with Spezza and Michalek
* Silfverberg fits better with Turris and Alfie, will learn more and have less pressure there
* Regin as the 3rd line center because of playmaking ability. He is going to be protected by Neil and Smith
* Gotta love the defensive awereness of that 4th line. They can also score

Really like those lines and it can only get better once guys like Zibanejad, Prince, Stone, Petersson, Noesen, Puempel and Da Costa graduate.
Bumping this post I made on January 8th

Just adding that Smith could take face-offs for Regin if he struggles with that

Man Latendresse is tough to watch. Bring Greening back up and drop Lat's to line #3. The guy is so SLOW and shoots right into the chest. I'd give him 10 games nothing more.

Greening-Spez-Michalek (great on the RW last year, unoticeable on the LW this year, hmm)
Condra/Regin-Turris-Alfie
Lats-Smith-Silf (Stick Silfv wherever the dude is non-existent right now lol)
Condra/Regin-JOB-Neil

Despite having less than avg chemistry with spezza. He can get 30 on line 2 with turris at the same time improving line 1.

So far this yr they've done nothing together. Same thing happened last yr.

Silf deserves to be on the top line. Non-existent is good for him, he is not a tough guy or puck carrier, he just knows where to go to score or make a play. Give him some time to adjust to the AHL-NHL differences, and learn to gel with Spezza and Michalek and he will rack up more points. (And don't forget he is only at 5 NHL games).

But for tonight with Lats out, but Greening on line 2, Regin on line 3, and Daug on line 4.

Lol, no. Stop. Smith was horrid on that second line and was replaced by DAUGAVINS.

I don't get you guys. We have scored 15 goals in last 4 games. What more do you want and people already changing lines.

The top 6 is good, shuffle them among themselves? Sure but don't introduce bottom 6ers who belong in bottom 6 roles.

You may be exaggerating, I don't think Smith was bad on that line, I think Maclean was just trying different combinations to get something going. Why not? We`re fans why can`t we do what we want, why do you even care?
