Nashville Predators @ Anaheim Ducks

Barebones edition.

Didn't see one yet, thought I'd get the ball rolling.

Go Preds!

Ducks have been weird so far.

First two games, Anaheim scored 12 goals. They were shut out by Vancouver last night 5-0 which means they're either cooling off or really frustrated. They have the second best power play so far but have the worst penalty kill. Looks like their defense is questionable, again, so hopefully we're able to get some offensive flow going, since their D seems to be the exact opposite of the Blues.

Also I would assume they'll play their backup goalie, Viktor Fasth, who I know nothing about and quite frankly have never heard of. So I'm sure we'll make him look pretty good.

I think we'll score some goals but struggle defensively. I'm calling a 5-3 loss, with their 5th coming in empty net style for someone's hat trick.

Predatrolls post is in the works. In the meantime...check out this 10 year old Russian brawl.

Gotta love the penalty boxes overflowing.

Just what we need. A more open team. Less defensive-minded. Chance for the O to get going and feel better about itself.

Look for a goal from either Webs or Smith tonight to get them off the shnid. Webs to just relax, he's playing well but no points has to be pissing him off, and Smith to get his confidence back. The shuffled lines will have guys hopin' tonite.

Goose is back in tonight, via Josh Cooper's twitter. Man, a Yip-Gaustad-Halischuk 4th line would certainly be nice to see after some of the crap we've thrown out there.

Are the lines from practice staying the same? PS, Fasth, their backup was the first goalie off the ice in practice today. He's never started a game before.

I assume the practice lines are the lines for tonight.

Fasth is the confirmed starter. This is a prime opprotunity to get some offense going, especially since their D corps is somewhat weak.

I expect a high scoring one. Preds 4, Anaheim 3

Good memories here in Anaheim. Game 5 against the Ducks when Smithson scored in overtime is when I first started liking the Preds. It was my first GDT here.

Well crap. We always make brand new goalies look like the second coming of Roy. We are screwed....
