Then we'll all sit there saying "we're so close"

Instead of selling everything and getting as many top picks as we can in this deep draft. We'll lament how we missed the playoffs by 4pts and having the 12th overall pick sucks balls.
Anger management issues?

But you still have a shot at great players even at 12. Hell since 2006 guys like Eberle, Giroux, Karlsson were taken 15th or later in the first. Some of the games best players

Ya and Bondra was an 8th round pick. And Chris Phillips was a #1 overall. So what?

This year is deep in talent. This is the year where you want to sell assets and get as many 1st round picks as you can. And if by selling assets you fall in the standings all the better.

Are people honestly blaming Reimer for this loss?

I hope not. The Leafs looked lost in front of him.

He was good, don't get me wrong but I'm not ready to join the James Reimer ********** just yet. He certainly could have been worse but he didn't exactly steal the show either. I say rotate the two until someone steals a game for us (I know I know but it'll happen eventually).

Honestly I think they've been on par with eachother.

He didn't steal the show?

All you need to know is this one stat:

He had a better save percentage than Lundqvist despite losing 5-2.

He put the Leafs in a position to win tonight and the game was close till the Leafs fell apart (again!) in the third.

They were mostly soft perimeter shots. He made some key saves, he also sunk with the rest of the ship towards the end.

To be clear, he played good. He didn't completely outclass the competition (Scrivens) and no it's not a sign of big things for Reimer.

He still has alot to prove after last year.

Neither are nor ever will be accused of being a good NHL goalie. This is like arguing who is uglier.

One point though guys, Reimer has solid ability, but like others have said, this isn't the goalie that's gonna win us championships, probably not even the playoffs.

We need a new goalie, badly. I'm down for getting bernier in the summer, if only to have that kind of prospect in our system.

Thought he played well tonight, gave us a chance to win.

Game was never close though, we were outshot 41-17 they dominated us.

He played great, but his team decided to crap the bed and prevent him from getting the win

Yeah, because other teams who figure to finish low enough to get decent draft picks are just going to give those picks away. Right, sure they are.

So you will be to Scrivens what iarts was to Gus last season

I'm not ready to declare Reimer the #1 long term either just yet, but he played significantly better tonight than any game of Scriven's thus far.
If Reimer continues to play the way he did tonight, he will be the #1, so yes it could be a sign of big things to come, but I agree it is way too early to say that right now.

I'll say this though, I would give Reimer all the starts this week unless his play made it necessary to make a switch.
However regardless of who gets the starts, I pretty much anticipate three more losses this week.

Funny what one glove save on Rick Nash can do for you.
