Hovinen I guess thought he belonged in the AHL. I mean it shouldn't take 4 months to adjust to the NA ice surface.

Sunshine is questionable. I hope so but you never know. Maybe we'll draft Fucale?
Good summary. There were also lots of rumors about sunshine asking for a guaranteed nhl roster spot but it's far more comfortable blaming Homer for his stupidity. hf boards posters always know better anyway...

how is Gus not a liability? He's not very strong defensively and gets out-muscled in front of the net constantly. If you pair him with someone like Timonen or Grossman, he should be ok, but if he's anchoring the defense pairing, we're in trouble

Exactly. He's supposed to play a role similar to Carle or even Timonen to a lesser extent. Move the puck well, keep an eye on the passing lanes, cover up for a less mobile physical partner and not getting steam rolled by some approaching 6 foot 3 forward.
This defense has enough big bruisers. Need a creative puck handler.

That's what Schenn, Grossmann, and Coburn are for. Those guys are the muscle and they're the ones who make the space so that guys like Gus are given the room to operate. Put Gus with one of those three and he's perfectly fine. Besides, if anyone is asking Gus to be a thumper, then shame on them for that. Gus's skill is puck movement and positioning.

By all accounts gus was having a very good season before he got hurt. He was solid both on offense and positioning was good on defense. Wouldnt be surprised if he plays a few games to get back into shape and gets called up. Gotta make sure that foot is good though

Alt looks like he has a mean streak in him.

I only watched a little bit but his skating ability is what jumped out to me.

good, i really like wellwoods speed but if he's every going to amount to anything he needs to develop his o game. more ice time will do him some good. i also like this cause it means mcginn is staying for a little longer. i see mcginn as a slightly smaller but overall better sestito. he can still hit and fight but he won't take stupid penalties and he can produce a little. not to mention that he's decent in his own zone. bottom line is that you could give mcginn 12 minutes a night under normal circumstances but i wouldn't want to see sestito over 7.

Don't think there's going to be much of an offensive game that will surface. He likely isn't more than a 15-point player

maybe but at least he can get steady pk minutes. one way or the other him getting more playing time and trying to improve all around will only benefit the flyers going forward. cause with the flyers recent injury troubles/bad luck, odds are we'll see him again in the near future.

Yeah. He's an energy guy. He doesn't have the hands or the instincts to be an offensive force. I sometimes think he's too fast for his own good. He kind of plays out of control with the puck. If only Couturier could borrow some of his speed.

London plays tonight. Patterson their other goalie has been struggling. Good chance Stolarz starts tonight.

Never mind Patterson starting.

Anyone know how Petr Placek is doing? I remember when they drafted him it was one of those high ceiling potential project guys. He was like a Russian or Slovakian or something but went to an American high school I think.

Bill Meltzer @billmeltzer
Per @mashmore98 Heeter was ejected for nearly hitting ref with puck after angrily blasting it out of net after a goal.

Thought this was pretty funny.

If his stats are any indication he is struggling. He spent a large part of last year injured I think.

Puck went into the stands. A few years back a Trenton Devil player shot a puck into the stands and got a 12 game suspension. Heeter could have a problem with the league on this one.

Yeah I didn't watch the game so I don't know but if he indeed fired the puck at the ref on purpose then he deserves what ever punishment he gets coming to him.

Phantoms lose tonight, but Noebles scores his 5th goal since being called up to ADK. 5 goals in 10 games, not bad.
