ESPN ranked their top 25 players under the age of 25 today.
Placing at #24 was the only Raptor on the list. Was it Valanciunas? Ross? DeRozan? Fields ?
Nope.
Ed Davis.
Quote:
Current: Davis is finally seeing his production match his potential, and the Raptors are now one of the NBA's hottest teams since he has moved into the starting lineup. Davis has real talent to "feel" out a defense's weaknesses and earn easy baskets by moving to the perfect spot on the floor. He gets a lot of dunks this way, and he finishes a high rate of his non-dunks too. Davis works at rebounding every shot, and does so effectively, while making very few mistakes with the ball. -- Thorpe Future: With his performance over the past month, Davis has earned the right to stay in the starting lineup after Andrea Bargnani returns, and he might not give up that role for years. Strength remains an issue for the rail-thin Davis, especially in terms of defending the post. MySynergySports.com ranks him 124th out of 152 qualified players in points allowed per post-up. -- Pelton

They're playing the Cavaliers, so it's a winnable game. And the team is pretty fun to watch right now since they're playing hard.
You'll like Terrence Ross too (#31). Ed Davis is fun to watch as well, but in a different way. With Davis it's less about highlight reel stuff and more about the fact that he's just playing good, smart ball right now.

I wouldn't wear the bosh jersey, no.
And yeah, hopefully it should be a good game.
Like Eyedea said, watch #2 on the Cavs (Kyrie Irving) as well. he was the 1st overall pick a couple years ago and is one of the better PGs in the league. Also watch #13 on the Cavs, Tristan Thompson. He's from Brampton.

I will be looking out for Thompson, he is the brother of a friend of a friend of mine
Raptors trying to blow this game just like the Leafs. What else is new in Toronto.
I think you mean the Leafs are trying to blow their game like the Raptors. The Raps have been blowing games this year dating back to when Leaf players were huddled in a board room talking about make whole provisions.
Kyrie is a true franchise player. My lord I was shocked to see CLE go for the win but they had confidence in their guy and he delivered. But WTF did Casey go for a lame tip in with .7 seconds left? That's plenty of enough time to get a legit shot up. He's just is a terrible end of game manager.
Matt said on the broadcast that with tonight, the Raps have 11 losses when entering the 4th quarter with the lead.
Right now they are 16-28. If they had just not blown the lead in half of those games (we'll round up), they'd be a .500 team and sitting in at least 8th (they could be in 7th if one of those removed blown leads was against the Bucks)

Good teams execute in the 4th quarter. Bad ones do not.. Simple really.

This also happens when you don't have a closer. Yeah Demar hit that shot a few days ago, but he has shown he isn't really a reliable closer. A guy that can help stop runs by other teams or puts in the dagger to put you up by 5 instead of just 3 in the last minute.
As long as our closers are Demar and Anderson, Raps will struggle to close the deal. Doesn't help that Casey turns into an idiot during the 4th quarters.
Ed Davis fits this starting line-up so much better then Andrea. Looks like such a better unit with him out there. And I've liked Landry Fields passing.. He took a lot of heat at the beginning of the season, but I really think he's coming into his own again here.
