I was just curious on how it worked... Like if anyone who didn't go could just start going...

Why would you go to a church? Just curious.

It's been awhile since I went to one. I was probably a kid IIRC.

I don't think they care... just a few rules that i remember from going as a kid.

#1) Pants are mandatory. A lot of prudes go to church.

#2) No taking pants off during church. Same reason as #1

#3) That tray they pass around is not a "take as much money as you want tray." My guess is they're making a collection to hire some private security for jesus when he comes back so there's no repeat of the Roman incident.

#4) Pretty much the one guy in the front gets to talk, and nobody else. They really don't appreciate any back seat preachers.

You ever get that feeling where you truly feel sorry for the bad things you've done ?

I believe in heaven and hell and well I know where I'm going when I die. Rightfully so I might add, and lately I just want to be a better person. The kind that people don't hate or think is annoying. The one people only say good things about.

Pretty sure they would welcome any visitors.

That's how it worked in Home Alone, anyways.

And don't feel bad about not going. Its ridiculous to think someone gets into heaven purely based on attendance. If you really want to be a better person start volunteering or volunteering more.

Church isn't going to make you less annoying. In fact, I know lots of people who are more annoying because of church.

If you go to a church you also have to try a mosque and synagogue. Equally as enlightening.

Haven't gone to church since I got confirmed years ago. The main reason? I don't like to get up that early. Other reasons include I don't care, I'm not a very religious person, and I choose to live my life the way I want to without advice from others on how I'm suppose to live it. If going to church is going to help you though, more power to you, go for it.

No thanks to church.

And Minnesota is right, plenty of annoying and hated people BECAUSE OF church. Old cliche but still applies: "Better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you're not"

Just find a sense of purpose in your life.

I haven't been to church in years. I never had churches that spoke to me as a kid. Wasn't really raised a believer and it's hard to convince someone intellectually as an adult. But I've seen some friends completely turn their lives around.

From what I've observed, some churches are boring, some are really intense and authoritative, and some are really good places. The last several years there's been a trend towards churches that are much less of an "Old Testament" experience and much more focused on community and doing good deeds and what not.

(should be pretty obvious that getting into a religious discussion is not allowed as it goes nowhere good, but "going to church" per se isn't so much religious)
