No, it's because he's got bone chips in his ankle.

If anyone's noticed, he doesn't have that burst of speed that he had last year and his top-end speed isn't nearly as fast.

At first, I thought it was conditioning, but he was skating the same way in Hartford when I saw him live and he didn't look like he was engaging in races for loose pucks or beating guys with speed like he did throughout the playoffs last year.

There's also been confirmation by people in Hartford that he's been seen after games with a boot on his ankle.

I was really excited for the Rangers fans all now to latch on to the injury thing. I'm not disappointed.

I was really excited to see someone say something like this who knows absolutely nothing about the guy.

I'm not disappointed.

Wow, I was really missing that line. Good to be back to being about to say I know nothing about Kreider, eh?

I'd do it. We would have to hold 2.5 million to help the cap situation.

Good to see you're still trying very hard with your sarcasm but failing miserably in looking either cool or intelligent.

Proud day for you and your family, you even used an "eh?" in there.

Good to know you're whiffing your way down the ladder.

Also, not really hard to tell when you've shown in previous conversations that you know...

A. Nothing about the way he plays.

B. Clearly didn't watch a shred of him play at BC.

C. Sure as hell haven't watched him this season.

Kreider has by no means played well, neither in the AHL or NHL thus far this season and it's not a stretch to say that even when he recovers he won't return to his playoff form, but are you kidding me? Would you suggest that having an injury that affects one's ability to skate would have no effect on the performance of a player whose best asset is his skating?

How about a trade for Erik cole ? We would be a great fit in NYR .. 30 goal scorer , perfect for the playoff ! I think it probably your best option if he's available since iginla is probably to high and only rental player

So Adam Larsson has low value, correct? After all, he's a healthy scratch.

Yes, his value is lower than it would be if he was playing at a high level in the NHL. The two are hardly comparable though, given Larsson performed successfully for a full season in the big leagues rather than a handful of playoff games. If the Devils were to shop Larsson, people know what they are going to get. Krieder, not so much.

Krieder has value but it definitely is lower right now than it was in the summer. Scoring five times and recording twelve total points in the AHL isn't too great (Larsson, a defenseman, put up one less goal and seven more points in the same time frame).

Not to mention he's hurt..

Kid's going to be good but he's just not there yet

Rangers don't make any of those deals. I'm not sure they can even trade Sauer.

Yeah. No Ranger fan made these proposals. And no Ranger fan is looking to actively deal Kreider. Troll on.

They can't, he's on LTIR.

But if the Rangers could.. they take every single one of those deals running.

Only one that would even cause slight hesitation is Cammalleri.. (because of cap hit issues)

Giving up nothing of current substance (besides future potential in Krieder) for a player that can heavily contribute to a team in win-now mode for the next two-three years.

The Rangers need the future potential of Kreider the affordability and control of his contract.

All assets they would gladly trade if it means a better shot at the cup... which it would in these scenarios. When you have a team built like they do, you don't care about 4 or 5 years down the road. You care about this year and the year after that and how to make sure you win a cup in that time span because the future is unknown. You don't know what will happen injury-wise that will close a team's window earlier than originally thought. Krieder isn't putting you guys over the top for a cup anytime soon.. one of these pieces would be a large step in that direction.

Wasn't a cap world but the Devils in their hay day traded top prospects annually to stock up for a playoff run. Hell, they traded Bergsfor, who was their top prospect at the time, for Kovalchuk for that very reason..

Besides, you claimed they would do none of these trades when I think it's pretty obvious they will gladly trade Asham or Rupp for any player on that list.. which is a joke because players like Asham and Rupp carry zero trade value.

Taylor Pyatt is a beast.

Stepan and Callahan have been the problem on the 2nd line.

Gotta love when fans of other teams on HF insert their heads into certain spots and pretend that they know what they're talking about when it comes to other players on other teams that they never watch.

The writing's on the wall for this one.
