Koekkoek had the same surgery on the same shoulder last season, limiting him to 26 games. He appeared in 40 games for Peterborough this season, scoring six goals and 28 points, before being traded to Windsor, where he appeared in only two games before being shut down.

Koekkoek was in Tampa over the weekend to be looked at by Lightning team doctors.

"The first procedure he had, it failed, so he needs to have it redone,'' Tampa Bay general manager Steve Yzerman said.

I wonder if his shoulder has been bothering him some all season. He injured it in the pre-season also, if you remember.
Good luck on the surgery and recovery. See you in training camp.

Any news on Maxime Langelier-Parent his has only played a single ECHL game this season, is he injured or a healthy scratch all the time?

I think he's tightened things up a bit defensively this year, and his backwards/lateral mobility looks slightly improved. But offensively, he's actually regressed I think. Brendan Miller has sort of taken over the role of primary puck mover for Brampton. Blujus seems hesitant to jump up in the rush, or lead the attack. I expected him to become more aggressive in these areas this season, not less.

Just my two cents.
Blujus lacks the mobility to be a primary puck moving Dman in the NHL, I think. In the show, he will be a solid stay at home guy who can help out on offense and on the power play, imo anyway.

He got injured in game one and hasn't returned since. Not sure what the problem is exactly.

And 1 of only 2 players on his team to finish the game without a negative +/- in a 6-2 loss to Sergeev's Val-d'Or. Sergeev had 1 A and a +3. Glad to see Kucherov's weak defensive game, eh?

That's so great. Tikker is not to be trifled with apparently. Nice straight left to start with.

How do you guys feel about former Norfolk player Kostka being lost to Toronto and is playing average of 26 minutes a game on the top pairing(30 minutes last game). I personally didn't see him fitting with the system with what I projected him to be (a 5-6 Dman) and we are okay in defense at this time (maybe a legit #1) with the Lightning so I don't feel too bad...

It shows how strong are D is that he couldn't even get a sniff at the show and how weak the Leafs is that he's on their top pair.

Fine. He was a depth player we got in a trade for James Wright and never got a second of ice time in Tampa. The fact that a bad team is playing him so much means nothing to me. Besides, he left as a UFA, he wasn't going to make the Lightning especially with Aulie playing so well and at 27 I'm sure Kostka wasn't going to sign with a team that he would be destined to spend another year in the AHL.

EDIT: -7 in 5 games? Now I really don't feel bad.

What's the status of JT Brown?

Is he still injured? Will be a Bolt when he is healed?

Where would he fit in on the big club? I'd prefer him on the Crunch getting minutes than playing 10 minutes or getting scratched on the big club.

We have so much depth now... love it.
