San Jose's top 6 is too strong for us to stop at even strength. Win the special team battle, win the game.

Our D still looks disorganized. Offence is meh, 5-on-5.
Sharks are tearing it up.

Unless the Sharks get into penalty trouble, or Schneider stands on his head,
I'm predicting a good game, edge to the Sharks.

Although Tanev might bring his Norris-game with him hahaha....

Awesome GDT, Zombotron!

Compared to what I've seen in the Avs @ Sharks game, the Canucks are not even remotely close in terms of game speed.
Having your first line play at a competetive level during the lockout is paying dividends big time for San Jose right now.

Canucks are not ready yet to keep up with the Sharks. They'll eat us alive, even with outstanding goaltending on our side. You know, Schneider is human after all.

This game is the first real measuring stick. It will show the Canucks how far away they are from the level of play they need to get to.

I'll be happy if we can avoid a blow-out, get out of the game without any serious injuries (as of now half of our roster is an easy target for big hits due to lack of speed), and keep upping our level of play compared to our last outing.

Yes, I am still in humble-pie mode.

Yeah without Kesler I don't like how we match up against these guys.

Zombotron with a marvelous GDT. Simply brilliant. Shredder pick and "their turf" scenery was especially poignant.

Now this game, is a loss. Sharks are terrifying right now. Marleau is red-hot. I hope Lu is well prepared for the onslaught.

Well this will be a really good test to find out where the Canucks are right now.

I'd be satisfied if they split this back-to-back

SJ is too strong too early. Yes they are on the 2nd game of a back-to-back but with a fresh goalie in net - who happens to be their #1 guy. SJ's offence too strong. Sadly, I have to say this will be a tough loss for our Canucks: 5-2 for SJ

Great GDT, Zombotron - just awesome.

The Canucks will need to withstand the early surge from SJ, who will have their skating legs right away given that they played last night. If they can buckle down and withstand the early storm, I think they may be able to take advantage of some fatigue (I hope).

Hamhuis and Bieksa need to have big games as well; we'll need them to contain the Sharks' top forwards.

Is there any indication that Luongo will start?

For that matter, Manny is likely not in today, since AV said he doesn't want to mess with a winning line-up from Friday.

Awesome GDT.

I think the key to this game will be staying out of the penalty box. The Sharks PP has been lethal. Anyways, I'm really looking forward to this game.

I think the latter was confirmed yesterday on Twitter.

Here it is:

Only way Malhotra gets in is if Lapierre is unable to go - he was given the day off yesterday, so hopefully he's ready.

No word on a starter yet; AV has been inclined to go with the guy who just got the shutout in the past, though. I don't see him changing that up now.

Also, some career stats vs. SJ...

Kevin Bieksa - 20GP, 3G, 10A, 13Pts
Daniel Sedin - 43GP, 9G, 19A, 28Pts
Henrik Sedin - 44GP, 10G, 21A, 31Pts

Henrik is also five points back of Markus Naslund for the all time lead in points amongst Canucks.

No, no confirmation on Lu starting. I had read that this was his scheduled start somewhere, but after Schneider's shutout, who knows? I'd still go with Luongo though and play Schneider vs the Kinds. However, I know it would be pretty hard for AV to sit Schneids after that shutout so your guess is as good as mine.

Great GDT! Best I've ever seen on the nucks board I think, thanks Zombotron.

Will be a tough game. Sharks are undefeated this season.

Excellent GDT, extremely creative

Marleau keeps the streak going by potting a pair,

but each Sedin will score once,

so it'll be 5-2 Canucks.

This will definitely be one of the front runners for GDT of the year.

Now to the game, I have a hard time believing that we will be in this game given the injuries and great play by the Sharks top 6, which rested in the 3rd period once they were up 4-0. I'm predicting a 5-3 loss but what I'm really hoping for is a game that rivals in awesomeness to this GDT.

We got off the hook by SJ starting Greiss yesterday, Niemi sucks when he plays against us. He usually only wins when our goalie sucks more.

4-3 Van (D.Sedinx2, Burrows, Garrison)

I'm surprised how little faith people have. Yeah you can look at top 6 matchups and say we are not looking good tonight. Same time, we have a really good hockey team.

The sharks are in tough to extend their streak. I don't think we have nearly seen the beginning of how powerful out defense corps is. Look for them to blow up a night here soon.

3-1 Vancouver.
