On the subject of still unsigned RFA's, any thoughts on the Ryan O'Rielly situation in Denver?
He'd look good out there with our forwards.

I think ROR would be more likely to get his OS matched than Subban. Each guy, if given an OS, would be signed for around a $5 million AAV.

O'Reilly wanted to be paid #2 C money (Last I heard).. Not worth it with his injury in KHL and his limited (Though intriging) NHL sample size
No one should be ready to pay him based off his season last year big $$$

1st + 3rd + that Cap Hit? Don't you think we should use this to get a goalie?

The Panthers are really hurting with Weiss and Versteeg out with injuries. Theodore is atrocious. Maybe Uncle Dale should make a trade with the Hawks for Emery.

The Hawks won't make any offer sheets, they will wait to see if O'Reilly goes on the shopping block and he might come cheap due to his injury and maybe not. Subban is the more likely one to be traded but the Canadians will be asking far too much for him. The Hawks can't afford to give up any more draft picks and probably don't even have the draft picks to do an offer sheet.

Offer sheets are pointless
Lead to overpayment league wide and just leave animosity between GM's
And O'Reilly isn't worth the $$$ he wants

he's horrible to watch. i don't like him to begin with...so tend not to give him the benefit of the doubt - but it can't be denied his play has been awful.
kessel has yet to score a goal.

First round pick should be a very late one, and not worried about a 3rd rounder. Would absolutely be fine with his cap hit. Would be the PP QB we are dying for.

But Wild tie it up after the closest you can get to high sticking without high sticking.
