I don't know the entire deal with Leblanc. I still think he'll make the jump one day, but I always held the opinion that 3rd line was his ceiling. I could still be wrong, and hope I am, but it's looking doubtful.
Still can't believe that Desjardins lost so many games in a row. Good to see him back on track against the team where he had his melt down. Since returning from his timeout, he's 1-1-2 but in the last 3 games he's given up 4 goals and looked much sharper.
He had 7 shots last night so I imagine he might be getting some of his game back. Anyone see him last night?
He has looked better the last couple of games. He was playing on a line of Bournival Tenute Leblanc and thought they had a good night although I have to finish watching the game.
Considering he spent most of the season on a third line with no PP and no PK, those numbers are fine. Lefebvre has the tendency to almost never mix the lines except when there are injuries. I wouldn't worry about stats. It's fine as long he doesn't play as poorly as Palushaj.

Up until the last couple of games he's looked much worse then Palushaj has this year. Leblanc has struggled mightly since returning from injury, after his first 4 games back he did have 2 points but the next 18 games he had only 1 point and just looked terrible (I saw most of the games but I admit I turned off several games in disgust)
Leblanc is actually producing as we expected. He was drafted to be a low-scoring 3rd centre with the ability to play wing, and that is what he is. Why we would draft a low-scoring 3rd centre in the first round is a good question. I don't have the answer.

I agree. And with some young talent like Kristo, Gallagher, Hudon, Bozon and Collberg in the system Leblanc may never make it as a regular with the Habs
Last season he played 42 games with the big club and he looked good (I like him on Eller’s wing) in most of them. This season in the AHL, before the aforementioned injury, he had 2 goals in 3 games played. Things were looking great: he looked good last season in the NHL, a good start in the AHL and I was happy to read that he came into camp with an added 10 pounds of muscle.
Then all hell broke loose.
During the lockout, I tried to watch some Bulldogs games but, maybe I was unlucky, each times the show was crap and I stopped watching after 1 period! However I read that high ankle sprain (remember Lapierre before Gauthier shipped him out of town; how slower he looked?) can take months to fully heal.
So the injury played a role but, and here I am guessing, based on his interviews, it seems that it also had an effect on his morale. Leblanc is currently fighting an uphill battle but this a good time to see if the guy has character. Frankly, for an outsider like me, he seems to have a tendency towards melancholy and despair. Btw... melancholy and despair probably are a bad choice of words (too strong): in French we say “baisser les bras”.
Time has come for him to show his character.
Pas l’temps d’niaiser!
PS It’s good to read he has been doing better lately. I also hope Lefebvre intends, if Leblanc works hard, to give him more than 3rd AHL line duties.

He wasn't drafted as a future 3rd liner, but he was a bad pick in hindsight. But it wasn't an especially great draft either to be fair. We might get 0 NHLers out of it.
That's not so bad. Sutherby is a damn good fighter an Tinordi was at the end of a shift after a huge hit and got grabbed from the side so he never had good balance and posture in that fight. My god is he ever a monster hit wise at the AHL level!

If you are looking for 3rd line talent at 18th overall you should be fired. Don't try and excuse a bad draft pick with that nonsense. It was a bad choice made because he is french to appease a certain contingent of bandwagon fans, no more no less.

IIRC all the scouting services had him in the first round. And more to the
point, 3rd line was considered more of the floor, not the ceiling.

Show me one article from his draft year that has that as his projection.
The revisionist history here is ridiculous. LL was projected to be a late first round pick by the majority of people and that's where he was picked. These french conspiracies are ridiculous.
