Who knows, a lot can happen between now and the beginning of next season. I think he would be good enough to play in the NHL next year, but at what capacity? It's all up to management, they look like they're becoming conservative with their prospects now, or maybe it's because of the short season.

We'll find out.

Griff needs about 20 more pounds at least to fill into his frame. Don't know if he can do that over the summer.

His foot speed is bad enough at his current weight, now you want to add 20 lbs? He's a kid, he will get there... Size, Strength, and Speed-wise. He just needs time, like 99.99999% of defenceman. Don't know why a lot of people have something against that.

I couldn't disagree with you more. Reinhart's body is probably the most NHL-ready feature he has. He's already heavier than big Dougie Hamilton, who is an inch taller, a year older and playing in the NHL. Reinhart is about 205 right now, which is about the same weight as Hamonic. By TC next year I expect him to be between 210 and 215. Physically, that is more than fine. It will come down to whether his game is ready(considering how he looked in the scrimmage, I'd say it is already pretty close).

6'4" and 210 lbs isn't physically ready. There is a huge difference between teenager strength, and man strength.

Again, completely disagree. Reinhart is probably physically ready right now. It's the rest of his game that the Islanders want to see develop. Unless you'd prefer he play the pylon/crease-clearer and nothing else-style.

Pelech didn't play tonight for Erie.....

Otters defenseman Adam Pelech was given an indefinite suspension for his knee-on-knee hit against Saginaw’s Zach Bratina Wednesday. The league hasn’t issued an official ruling.

Lee and Russo were on the ice in the final minute when an empty net goal was scored against them. So factor that into the +/-.

Only 4 players have more goals than Anders Lee in NCAA (all players ahead of him have (15))

Being physically ready is more than just being a certain height and weight. Foot speed is a weakness for Reinhart. You could somewhat see it during the WJC. Imagine how badly it would be exposed in the NHL at this point. Foot speed is a byproduct of lower extremity strength, which by my estimation is a physical tool. He is not physically ready yet.

The Isles need to handle him like the Blues handled Pietrangelo. No need to rush him. I'd give him 2 full junior seasons and 1 AHL season before playing him in the top 6. I don't see him being a difference maker before that point.

It's correct, just checked the box score and that is listed.

Has ND now really lost 6 in a row?

5 in a row and 6 of their last 7. Team is having trouble scoring, only 11 goals in the last 7 games.

Sorry, I know that your stats you provided are correct. Just saying that Russo and Lee getting a minus for an empty net goal is pretty lame.

Griff should have actually have been Jacob Trouba. Garth misses again. Now we have two Ty Wisharts

Whats the deal with Brenden Kichton?

I dont know anything about him but he seems to put up serious points for a defenseman. Is there a reson he's not considered a legit prospect?

Not much in the way of highlights tonight for Islander prospects. Brenden Kichton had a beautiful stretch pass for his 43rd assist of the season. Clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2ILgZK7w6s

I'll have the Pedan slew-foot eventually. Right now it's not available for me. Will post as soon as I can.

Pelech still out with a suspension

I really hate plays like that.

The same for players throw head shots.

Don't like the slewfoot or other undisciplined offenses. But you can't teach nastiness (see Okposo) and Pedan has it. He can be cured or coached how to limit himself, but he will be a guy like a Hatcher that forwards will want to avoid. It makes him more effective.
