Well. So far, we haven't been in need of the first line so much. But I think we're about to find out how important that line is, overtime. Especially to have it scoring.

Maybe this explains a bit why Patches wasn't at his best so far.

Hopefully, Eller steps up and plays really good. As far as I remember, Eller played on the wing in Finland.

What the hell is happening??? A Habs injury and it's NOT Andrei Markov?

Seriously though, big loss but it's not catastrophic as long as we have Markov... and Price.

3-4 weeks equals to 11 to 15 games. Damn. And that's the minimum, Patches will probably out of shape when he comes back...

I think it's been well established that Patches is a cyborg. There's no such thing as out of shape for him.

Well, appendicitis can take a few days to develop. Maybe not a week (yet possible), but enough to have affected a game, at the very least.

Yea. but before Markov's last injury, it took him 7 days to go back on LTIR. And when he was playing, he wasn't really great. Who knows? But yea, I sure hope Patches is in top shape when he comes back.

I don't think so.. it's one of those things that just comes on very suddenly, you get violently ill, and then it escalates quickly from there.

I think Patches just sucks, no need to make excuses for him.

Relax, kiddo.

Obviously I don't think he actually sucks. I'm just saying, let's not make excuses for why he hasn't scored yet. It was only 3 games into the season, and stuff.

This is a bad loss for me as I am a huge Pacioretty supporter. But I do think the team is good enough to stay relevant in a playoff race without him for 25% of the season. I have faith that Eller will pick up some if those lost goals.

Do not worry Habbies, Wolverine will be back stronger and better as he always does!

Emelin is the cyborg. Patches just has super regenerative powers like Wolverine

Brutal! Sucks for Max but at least they took care of it. Hopefully the team can stay in it till he gets back.

Has there every been a season when at least one important player didn't miss significant time? 07-08 maybe?

Emergency Life-saving surgery? NO EXCUSES!!!

Kidding. I hope he gets well in record time. He was the lone bright spot on that top line so far.

I hope Eller can do well on those top 2 lines for this time period.

Pacioretty's wife told Stubbs that he is doing fine.

I'd prefer shifting Gally up to wing and putting Eller in Gallys spot on the 3rd line.

I had an emergency appendectomy 2 years ago, there is no way he will be game ready in 3-4 weeks it will be more like 6-8.

Before I had mine I was working out at least 5 times a week, the first time I even able to lift a weight comfortably after that was 6 weeks later.

The time it takes to recover from that kind of surgery has little to do with a persons physical condition it's how quickly the incision heals internally, if you rush it you risk getting a hernia.

This sucks.

No offense but he is a pro athlete, what takes a normal person to recover is a bit more than a pro athelete (in general). There can always be complications, but don't be shocked if he is back by week 4

A normal person doesn't strain his body the way a pro athlete does.
