Tarasenko is the forum's current flavour of the month, any poll with him in it isn't going to be fair. I didn't vote personally though because I'm waiting to see if Tarasenko can keep his production up and if Turris will continue to improve over the entire season.
It is obviously Tarasenko. He is amazing. But Turris is still an excellent player, who is playing very well this year.
I don't think the Sens had any desire to draft Tarasenko at that position. They have been burned with Russian draft picks before.
At least we don't have Rundblad, the short straw among the 3 players. And Rundblad is going to be a good player, so all 3 teams made out alright in the deals.
These comparisons don't make much sense, given the original team might not have picked the player. Had Nashville not traded #15 in 2008 to Ottawa, would they have taken Karlsson? No, they would have taken Pickard, the same player they took at 18. So you can't say Nashville blew it by trading 15 to Ottawa as they probably didn't scout Karlsson at all and barely knew who he was. It was Brian Burke who blew it for Anaheim, as he wanted Karlsson, but traded down from 12 to 17, when he should have sat at 12 and drafted EK, instead of gambling he'd be there at 17.
I like kt and iam fine with the trade ,ever since the KHL opened its doors iam still scared to see my team draft one .He is a tallented player for sure. But that KHL option will allways make some teams nervous, Ottawa is one of those teams
