If you honestly think Laughton could fetch you Radar you're out to lunch.

This. People understand the source. Why would Garrioch have insider information here?

If the AVs were shopping him, why "quietly"? It wouldn't be quiet -- you'd let all teams know and try to get a bidding war.

A good trade is one where you deal from a strength to shore up a weakness.
Our strength is on the wing, not at center. Center is actually a sore spot right now.

Schwartz, D'Agostini, Steen, McDonald or Stewart would be the guys we should base a deal around(Schwartz being the highest value of the group). Not Berglund. Berglund is the perfect #3 center for Hitchcock's system.

Oreilly would be an even better 3C for Hitchcocks system though.

As an Avs fan I would be interested in Berglund + a Dman for Oreilly. Not sure how you guys value your Dmen after Pietrangelo, but an offensive Top 4 Dman would be good for the Avs(Not talking about Shattenkirk lol).

lol Laughton and a 2nd would not happen.

Couturier and a 2nd probably would though. RoR > Couturier but if they're really trying to unload him then it would make sense to get someone back whose potential is similar.

And that way Sean would be out west and I can stop hearing about how amazing he is.

You would think that would be the case, but Elliotte Friedman noted that many teams had no idea Stewart and Shattenkirk were availble prior to the trade with St. Louis. Colorado tends to be one of the more secretative teams in the league in terms of how they operate. If, and it may be a big if, they are considering trading ROR, they likely have identified specific players/prospects as potential targets and the talks may be confined to a relatively small number of organizations.

I'd even add a young D prospect if Avs throw in a G prospect

ROR + G prospect for Ennis, D prospect, and 2nd rd 2013

Sam Gagner and a second of course. No way you could even get Smid he's just so important and the big 4 are more untouchable than Gretzky.

Edmonton isn't a good trading partner for anyones top players unless they are will to part with their number one pick.

Don't want Ennis, we need to get bigger and tougher to play against, not the other way around.

How physical is ROR? Seems much smaller than the listed 6' 205.

Ottawa might be in the mix (I don't see it to be honest) and he has some connections all over the league.

They can, but they wouldn't want to (Marcus Foligno).

1) We only have 2 actual centers at the moment(Steen is not doing overly well at the position and is getting swapped with McDonald on a regular basis). IF we got O'Reilly, he would be our #2. The entire idea behind trading for RoR would be to create some actual depth at the center position.

As I said; I have no interest in trading Berglund. The goal is to get somebody who can legitimately push him into the #3 role he is best suited for. Moving him is counter-productive.

2) The only 2 offensive D men we even have are Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk. You aren't getting either.

Unless you guys are willing to build something around our wingers and draft picks; there is no deal to be made here.

He's not physical, but he's a nightmare to play against, his stick is always trying to get to the puck and he can frustrate people with his defense, I've said it many times, but watching him play is like watching Patrice Bergeron 2.0 out there.

If Avs are looking for a young center the Senators have Zibanejad in their system waiting to break into the lineup but has Spezza and Turris above him on the depth charts. As a 6th overall pick he is definately attractive and plays a great style of game. If Avs are interested what piece would you like added to Zibanejad to sweeten the pot? It has been suggested a second round pick but some of our other players could be available as well such as Da Costa or Bishop. It might be possible to pry out one of Noesen/Puempel/Stone from our hands, but if I were a shrewd negotiator I would try and keep them. That being said Reilly is a proven NHL commodity so he would be worth it.
