It has been suggested a second round pick but some of our other players could be available as well such as Da Costa or Bishop. It might be possible to pry out one of Noesen/Puempel/Stone from our hands, but if I were a shrewd negotiator I would try and keep them. That being said Reilly is a proven NHL commodity so he would be worth it.
I'm pretty sure that Avs would ask for proven NHL forwards if they were trading O'Reilly.

Does he skate as well as Bergeron?

Looking at Colorado's roster -- they look like they need help on D.

How far off would Baertschi and the 2nd be?

Flames winger depth is their only real strength but it's forcing Baertschi to the 4th line right now. Their center depth is terrible though.

Based on one game it looked like Stajan was meant to play the defensive center role for Cervenka and Hudler, only problem was he couldn't keep up with them offensively which took away from the line pretty significantly I felt. O'Reilly would still be able to be the defensive anchor for them but add an offensive element to really make that a decent line.

Baertschi isn't proven but he does come with the nice ELC value.

Jeez, that's a pretty big step up from the other offers in this thread. No offense, but the big 4 is too much for a signed ROR, and him unsigned is worth way less than signed.

Garrioch pretending to know what Avs are doing again? He has such a good track record of this.

It's not quite as good as Bergeron's, but his skating has improved massively every year (probably one of the reasons that he had more success last year offensively).

Avs killer Franzen is available Joking of course, but considering Avs GM anything can happen.

Well I didn't expect you guys to be interested, but I think its safe to say that all Avs fans will have no interest whatsoever in anything else on your roster but the big 4, if were gonna move a guy like Oreilly.

And the signed to unsigned argument is pointless. Obviously a deal wont be made unless a team can have some sort of talks with Oreilly before hand and likely have a deal in principle when a trade is made.

It would also be Oreilly+ for the big 4, but its understandable you have no interest. We just don't have any interest in anything else you could offer.

These are the only real proposals I see, and I think these would be the type of deals that the Avs would be looking at.

Young Forward and a 2nd doesn't equate to any random young forward.

That won't even get you Alex Tanguay according to one Calgary fan, so it won't get you O'Reilly.

His skating was the reason he wasn't taken higher in the draft, but he worked on it and now he's a pretty good skater, I'd say he's not as good as Patrice, but he also isn't too far off.

Those other offers would be declined in an instant. As for his value considering his contract status, I'm pretty sure he's not worth less because he doesn't have a contract. It's not like he can walk if you trade for him, also his salary demands might be inflated due to his position on the depth charts.

I bet it would be a similar return to what Phx got for Turris.

When was the last time someone claimed to know about a move the Avs were going to make, and actually got it right?
