Flames winger depth is their only real strength but it's forcing Baertschi to the 4th line right now. Their center depth is terrible though.

Based on one game it looked like Stajan was meant to play the defensive center role for Cervenka and Hudler, only problem was he couldn't keep up with them offensively which took away from the line pretty significantly I felt. O'Reilly would still be able to be the defensive anchor for them but add an offensive element to really make that a decent line.

Baertschi isn't proven but he does come with the nice ELC value.
More likely Bartschi for ROR and a 2nd, but hopefully Calgary doesn't even think of it.

I would just like to say curse you Garrioch for bringing down these downright awful and annoying trade offers, you're only doing this to spite us I know it!

I just wanted to use that gif.

The fact that he says we are looking for a young forward is ludicrous IMO. Management HAS to realize our d is abysmal, don't they?

If I was the Avs GM I would give RoR a long term deal and trade Stastny. That way they have 2 21 year old centers to build around. If they deal RoR because they don't want to pay and extra .5 to 1 mill I'm going to be so angry.

And RoR's agent has come out and said he isn't asking for 5 mill. They have been offered 3.5 on a 2 year, and 3.4 on a 5 year deal. If you can't bridge the gap on those amounts the Avs are in a world of hurt when Varly's contract comes up.

He said he isn't looking for $5M/year on a similar deal to that of Duchene (ie, a two year deal). Nothing in what he said excluded O'Reilly asking for $5M/year on a longer deal.

You need to have your lawyer goggles on when reading what agents say.

RoR is worth 5 mill per on a long term deal IMO. Losing him is going to hurt the franchise. Dumb stance by management.

As a Montreal fan I'd probably offer Lars Eller + 2x2nd round pick (pick 2 from MTL, NSH or CGY)

Although MB would probably try to bridge him on a 2 year deal worth 1.5 million and we'd have to trade him.

I can't see the Avs willingly trading ROR.

I like the Sabres, but if I'm the Avs I take that and run. Ennis is dynamite.

What's Ennis' contract situation like?

My big team is the Wings. Has the rivalry died down to the point where they'd deal him to us for, say, one of Jurco/Sheahan/Frk/Ferraro and a 2nd?

If, and it may be a big if, they are considering trading ROR, they likely have identified specific players/prospects as potential targets and the talks may be confined to a relatively small number of organizations.
To be fair, that's because Shatty probably wasn't really available as much as he was who STL wanted as part of a package for EJ. If we assume that there's any truth to this, the situation is different as the Avs would be shopping ROR, not looking to acquire someone with ROR as the main bate.

I can believe that he will be traded
But for a young forward and here it comes: a 2nd???

Why would the Avs specifically ask for a friggin second round pick.

And why for a forward? Does not make any sense.

Oh and if Sherman takes any of the proposals in this thread I am done with him!

I feel like you're trying to imply that Garrioch has no clue what the Avs are doing, but if that's true why would he post something like this? You're clearly just being a defensive homer...

Bozak/Kulemin + Finn/Percy/Biggs/Ashton/Colborne and a 2nd.

EDIT: Bozak probably ends up signing in 'Rado anyways. He lives there.

Comments like this are silly. When has Greg from Accounting made a trade that didn't see us improve significantly? Varly, EJ, Downie, Ginner + Sgar, Flash, O'Byrne, Mueller, etc. So why would you actually believe that Greg would decide to go full retard on a trade when his entire history with this team has been stellar?

Because this reeks of full Avs full retard mode aka Lacroix.

And no not every move he made was fine.

Letting Mueller and Flash walk did not sit well with me.
Trading Liles for a 2nd did not sit well with me.

Sign 4 bottom pairing dman who play exactly the same way (defensive, close to no offense or PM) did not sit well with me.

The Varlamov trade did not sit well with me either although he got lucky and it is looking pretty good now. But still an unnecessary risk at that time.

And trading for another forward and ignoring our ******** d because we have already 8 ds dressed may make sense in the Avs universe but not in mine....

And yeah I am pissed about this report.

If Sherm is asking for a 2nd (why a 2nd and not a 1st???), we will get Druryd. Badly....

I may be alone here, I hope I'm not, but I very much doubt Sherman (or anyone else for that) checks HF Boards before pulling the trigger on a trade...
