I'm hopeful for a win. I think it's a close game with an empty netter icing it late. 4-2.

David Backes finally going to score. I will continue to predict it until it happens.

I would feel a little better about this game if the Blues didn't play last night and Minny wasn't rested.

I think Redden is a good addition for his crease-clearing play on defense. While the Blues have some really talented defensemen, with the exception of Jackman none of them want to play physical in order to protect Jaro/Ells. Dirty goals/screening is something that all STL defensemen need to shutdown.

One that has been surprising me with a more aggressive style of play is Kevin Shattenkirk.

Shattenkirk seems to always start off well. On the other hand, Backes and Pietrangelo are our slow starters.

No worries. In this lockout shortend season, the cream always rises to the top. The Wild has one scoring line, the Blues have 3. Backes gets his 1st goal of the season and it's the game winner in a Blues 3-1 victory

I wouldn't mind seeing a lineup like this tonight:

Schwartz/Backes/Oshie
Perron/Berglund/Tarasenko
McDonald/Steen/Stewart
Sobotka/Nichol/Langs

Redden Petro
Cole Shatty
Russel Polak

Elliott

Reaves and Jackman get the night off, nothing wrong with their play. Just the night off

Put McDonald on the right point with Shattenkirk on the powerplay with that 2nd line...

I think most Blues fans forgive Backes in seasons that aren't so good just because of his leadership and tenure. Petro just doesn't look confident and fluid as usual, I'm sure once he bangs in a good couple of goals he'll find his groove again but my big fear is other teams trying to steal our beloved defenseman away from us during contract negotiations.

I have a bad feeling about this game. Our 5th game in 7 days, and we didn't look great against Dallas. Elliott's gonna have to stand tall tonight.

Schwartz played NCAA that rule only applies to CHL (WHL, OHL, QMJHL) players. Once a college player makes money playing they are no longer eligible to play in the NCAA. The players that applies to are not able to play in Peoria that is why the team has 5 games (normally 9) to determine if they want the player on the NHL roster since the players only options are the NHL or the CHL.

First time I'll see Granlund play in the NHL so pretty interesting stuff. Going to be a tough game, I predict a 4-3 shootout win.

Wild fan coming in peace.

Here's our starting line-up:

Parise - Koivu - Heatley
Bouchard - Granlund - Setoguchi
Cullen - Brodziak - Clutterbuck
Powe - Konopka - Mitchell
Kassian

Suter - Gilbert
Brodin - Scandella
Stoner - Falk

Kassian might replace either Powe or Mitchell in the final line-up. Otherwise, it should be pretty much that.

Cullen also has bruised wrist but will most likely play. Spurgeon is in IR with lower-body injury and will not play.

Good luck! Expecting a hard-fought, physical game but the games between these two teams were very good last season.

It cracked me up seeing Elliott right there. The back-up goalies in that arena look like they're sitting in the stands. Perron practically did a Lambeau Leap right in his face.

No need to worry, you guys will trounce us. Game will be over by the end of the first period. Could you at least leave Jackman and Reeves on the bench so you don't add injuries to our players on top of the scoreboard beatdown you're going to give us?

I really like that group of forwards from Minnesota, good combination of skill and grit.

Gonna be a tough one tonight.

Steen scores twice.

Hahaha I didn't even realize that was Elliott until this post. Just figured it was some Blues fan out of the corner of my eye. That is funny.

Anyways, should be a good game between these two teams. Really not sure how the Blues will play since we'll be tired and facing a good team. I'm hoping we can at least get a point since we usually play well at home.

I would also like to have Reaves in there and sit Nichol. Games vs Minnesota are usually physical and Sobotka can definitely handle 4th-line center. Langenbrunner-Sobotka-Reaves would be a great 4th-line.

I would rather put Sobotka in Schwartz' spot and sit Jaden a game. That way Reaves gets in there. But, you would be disrupting 2 lines instead of one this way.

IIRC, Backes has been a slow starter the last few seasons.

Thank you. I'm not the only one who thinks Backes takes a little bit before he gets rolling.
