I don't know, Bozaks numbers might be inflated because Kessel is miles ahead of Kovalchuk.

I don't go on other boards. If the Leafs fans really think Bozak is better, that's a perfect reason why I don't go on the main boards, except during the lockout when we were all hostages banded together.

You can see Oates is trying to bring the Devils system down to DC.
But it looks like the players aren't even trying. The "swarm" mentality is really sloppily executed.

They don't even have the injuries to start the season like the Devils did.
I want Oates to succeed, actually.

Regardless, offensive dynamo Joel Ward ties it up.

Buf-Wash 1-1 late in the 1st.

I'm rooting for Oates as well, but I think that locker room needs some re-tooling and unfortunately Oates happened to, like MacLean, step in at a bad time in that regard

I'm not ready to throw in the towel that it is Oates coaching that is the reason for the Caps struggles as it was a large part of MacLeans with the Devils - never did we hear any Devils players praise MacLean when he was an assistant here like we heard players the last 2 seasons do for Oates

This 2nd period is the best period I've watched them play this season.
It'll all come together eventually. I just hope the players and management have the patience to let the pieces fall into place.

The trade and polls boards do produce some gems.

Oates gets his first W as a head coach. Glad he finally got it.

Good for him. I really hope he doesn't get MacLeaned.

This league is becoming pathetic. Can't do anything more without getting a penalty.

Apparently Parise has decided to become quite the goal scorer on his new team. Little shocked because he never put up these numbers so fast when he was here.

Hawks win 2-1 in OT

Leddy with goal

Hawks dead tired ( 6 games in 9 days) and killed 6 penalties (Including long 5 on 3)

This team has heart of 2010 team ,, No quit in them

Parise is getting plenty of puck luck so far this season, and scoring his signature goals 5-10 feet around the net. Hard to hate the guy though, he's getting paid buku bucks. He and Koivu have great chemistry already which isn't surprising.

That being said, I hope he will always be remembered for coming in 2nd place.

Second year after a major injury, usually it takes a full season before you get back to what you were, unless you're Adrian Peterson. Plus a 'lot' offensive numbers are going to be skewed again anyway, just like they were in 2005-06. Freaking Daniel Winnik (a Ducks goon/fourth liner) already has like five goals himself.

This is why I 'hated' having him leave, among other things. With how good this Devil team is in other areas, they would be absolutely a LEAD Stanley Cup contender with him this year.

Wow Parise is scoring on OVERRATED Brian Elliott! Big deal.

It is good to see Elliott is not going to be called a top 10 goalie anymore like last year. That was absurd, and he's not even the best goalie on his team.

I'm over Parise, but I agree. My biggest fear of Parise leaving has come true. Him being replace by TedenBUST.

Way too many 3 point games tonight in the East. Not a fan of this.

Chicago and San Jose on a good roll right now. Scary good - thankfully we won't have to see them til June
Actually really impressed with Crawford.

Haha Wild lose in OT! Scored 4 goals, but couldn't give up less than 5!

Just to show you how gutted Florida must really be right now, Philly went right back to getting steamrolled by Tampa Bay.

When your defense impresses less than Tampa Bay.... ****'s gone south for the season.
I'd like them to pull it together eventually though... Philly is one of the teams I do not want to see with a high draft pick.

I'm hoping for them to Calgary this season and come up just short in 9th.

Philly did play Leighton though too. Leighton is an AHL goaltender. I didn't see the game, but he makes Bryz look like a Vezina winner, and gives up bad goals every NHL game I've ever watched him. Including all of their 2010 SCF games with him in net.

However Leighton has nothing to do with Philly not being able to exceed more than a goal against frickin Tampa Bay.

Puck Farise and The Wild. Islanders gave away a point to Peg but they have been scoring bushels of goals. Thursday night vs them should be a great game a. The Rock

I'm not pulling against him by any means, but I'm real indifferent towards him. Just glad he's gone from the Devils. That PP was so stagnant, unsuccessful, and boring to watch, and he brought the same lifeless PP to Washington. I really can't see him making it to April 2014.

The PP was off to a rough start, but the team was underperforming in every regard.

Once the team picked up the pace in 2012, the PP went along with it.

I might be alone in this, but I don't fault Oates in that at all.

Devils typically finish ~15th in the league, no different last season - team rank was 14th.

Exactly. It's mainly the type of players you have. The Sharks PP is still murdering teams. It's because of the likes of Thorton who control the PP.
