With all the talk about Etem you guys missed that this was Andersen's first shutout.

Etem could probably help our PK with his speed though.....

Surprised to see him landing in Sweden as the Finnish league game style suited him way much better. Though many teams have their non EU-player positions already filled.

Are we talking about Sami here? that's not his game or never will be...Is Fowler physical in front of the net? or in the corners?

Sami is offense and puck moving... but he needs the way to be ok/average in defense by positioning or by his speed... or try to lift some more weights.

He played a great game last night,. (sami) I heard he was probably going back to Anaheim soon, so he is probably only with us for a conditioning stint, to bad we can sure use him

Congrats to Andersen! And to the team. I just recall Norfolk getting shellacked 6-1 and were on a long losing streak. So can you inform me what has changed because they're now on a three game winning streak! (Or is it because a lot of everyone else's top prospects are no longer playing in the AHL?)

JDD isn't in net. As far as I can tell that's all that is different. Andersen and Bobkov have done well the past few games, and it sounds like some of the guys they called up from the ECHL have been making contributions.

Somebody please explain this to me. Didn't he sign a contract over here this year? I know he started the year in Norfolk and quickly got sent to the ECHL in Texas somewhere I believe.

How is he now in Europe? What happened to his contract?

Hendry and Holland are headed back to Norfolk apparently.

I wonder if that means Rakell is staying the year in ANA?

It has to. IIRC, we only have four centers. Getzlaf, Bonino, Koivu, and Rakell. I'm not counting Cogliano obviously.

Has anybody been called up to be the #7 guy to replace Hendry in Anaheim yet? Sucks about Holland, he earned a chance and was handed 4th line duties with lackluster linemates in a blowout loss.

Holland got boned. I don't understand his handling at all.

What this really tells me is that they want Rakell exclusively at center, they seem unwilling to play him on the wing up here.

All Holland gets for his solid effort this year is under 8 minutes in a **** game

The only place that he'd been playing at wing was with the national team. Everywhere else it was at center.

I don't think that they made their decision solely on the basis of that game.

I suppose it's possible that they would rather have him play games while Rakell finishes his tryout.

Has Stephens said anything about it?

I haven't seen anything on twitter. Also if Hendry is getting sent down, does that mean Vatanen is coming up?

that would be dumb as well.. considering we dont need him to sit on the bench right now..

this actually screams of just saving a bit of money between now and the next games on like friday... (obvs we're fully healthy of tuesday)

Guenin would be my guess. I suppose Vatanen or Clark are possibilities, but I'd be a little surprised by that. I haven't watched the last few games, so I couldn't tell you who is riding high at the moment.

Maybe it's for the all star game. Holland was selected, I think.

We need a right-handed shooting d-man up here so badly. If I were to venture a guess I'd say Vatanen is on his way. We need him on the power play. Now. I can't stand Getzy playing the point on the power play. Let Vatanen slot in there and put Getzy back down by the half-wall where he belongs.

interesting.. i thought our powerplay looked the best when getzy's been on the point this season. last night for our last pp we rolled

ryan-selanne-perry

getzlaf-fowler

i liked that one.. souray's got a big bomb but he takes forever to get it off and its always blocked..

also: sbisa had a good game last game but he still had all his shots blocked..

0-4 on the power play with only three shots. Our power play is not working. Getzy is a passer and he needs to be in a position to do that. We have no one-timer option from the point because we don't have a right-handed shot there and Getzy doesn't solve that. He never has.
