The Lounge"...Where the parking lot of the Igloo meets the concourse of the Nassau County Coliseum and the bathroom line of the Skyreach..." - Wickedbsfan
I have a story that I think is pretty decent and I want to send it out to various magazines to see if I can sell it. I've never submitted any of my stuff to anyone before, but I'm hoping someone can tell me if it's customary to send the story to one place at a time, or do a scattershot approach and see what comes back. I would imagine the second one, but I'd like to hear from someone who has experience.
I thought a lot of people could self publish online with kindle or a like program and just keep it cheap (99 cents) and you'll probably get a few buys.
John Stalvern waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were demons in the base. He didn’t see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Cernel Joson were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
John was a space marine for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the spaceships and he said to dad “I want to be on the ships daddy.”
Dad said “No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS”
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the space station base of the UAC he knew there were demons.
“This is Joson” the radio crackered. “You must fight the demons!”
So John gotted his palsma rifle and blew up the wall.
“HE GOING TO KILL US” said the demons
“I will shoot at him” said the cyberdemon and he fired the rocket missiles. John plasmaed at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
“No! I must kill the demons” he shouted
The radio said “No, John. You are the demons”
And then John was a zombie.

here ya go. When you're rich, famous and creepy like Stephen King, toss a few bucks my way to thank me for pointing you in the right direction
I've considered it, but part of wanting to sell the story to a mag is to get my name out there a bit for when I finish my first novel, hopefully by summer.

I think you need to be better at proofreading.

I laughed, I cried. Bravo, that was the bravest piece of non-fiction I've ever had the honour of digesting mentally. I remember seeing a show about this on the History channel, and your writing captured the very essence of it.
