Nielsen for Stalberg

With Bolland being moved up to 2C, the Hawks are looking for a 3C now i guess. Its a bit murky since its only been 5 games but Bolland has looked pretty well in the top 6. I'm not exactly sure what the isles needs are but i do remember reading in the Trade section that some Isles fans wouldn't mind parting with Nielsen. They have some prospects coming up that would make him expendable.

Stalberg is a UFA this season but he's coming off a nice season last year and he's looking good so far. Especially playing with Bickell and Shaw.

Would the Islanders be interested in Stalberg? What would need to be added to the deal to get Frans in a Hawks sweater?

I mean the values there but the Isles don't need 40 games out of Stalberg. Futures or rfa NHL ready talent is more up their alley

Nielsen countinues to be one of the most underated and undervalued players in the NHL...He is extreamly important to the Isles....

No it's not. Even if their on ice contributions were comparable, look at the difference in contract status. NYI gets ripped off in a big way.

The deal would be assuming Stalberg signs in NY.

Also, it's not just a one for one swap. The hawks would be adding for sure. Us hawks fans know how much value he is, that's why we want him!

The value is not really there at all. Frans Nielsen is pretty amazing defensively, and puts up around 45 points a year. Great at the pk. He would probably be the best 3rd line center in the league if the Islanders had a 2nd line center. No way they trade him especially since him and Grabner play really well together.

Terrible. The idea of moving Nielsen is created by the prospect freaks who think that every prospect will automatically be a great NHLer right away. Nielsen is a great NHLer. Islanders love him as their #3C (forced to be our #2C for now) and that won't change. Stalberg is useless to us, signed or not.

Nielsen is a stud on the defensive side, and has modest offense. He holds way more value than Stalberg.

I would trade Franz and Reasoner for Stallberg and Pirri or a draft pick simply because we have Strome and Bailey and not enough roster spots once Nino is ready to play anyways.
As long as Stallberg resigns then the deal for me makes sense even if CHI is getting the better player(s). Franz age is a factor in my decision.

44 games of Stalberg vs. 3 and 1/2 seasons of Nielsen, on a cheap contract.

I'd rather have the 3 and 1/2 seasons of Nielsen.

Disagree, Grabner is substantially more skilled. Stalberg is better compared to players like Hansen and Chimera.
