I really haven't since a year ago. The problem is we have no one better than him to bring up other than Butler. Even Butler might not be better than him at the NHL level either. There are way better options than this player right now, but unfortunately none at our disposal in our system. We could either sign Sykie, or trade a defenseman.

I'm wondering what happened to Kostitsyn also. Did he go back to the KHL?
Believe Kostitsyn decided to stay in the KHL, he was only being offered tryouts by teams in the NHL.

I am just speculating here but when Lou said Butler wasnt ready maybe what he meant was he doesnt know our system well enough to be on the NHL team. Where as Teddy has been playing it for 2 years (NHL or AHL)

Thats really the only reason i can think they would keep Matteau and 2 goons over him. I fully believe Teddy was going to make the team no matter what. I believe Butler didnt play the system well and did show enough to warrant sending a goon or Matteau down.

I have some harsh opinions on this I really don't wanna share publicly. It will piss off a lot of Tedenby supporters, and open up a can of worms WWIII style. I'll wait to see what happens with Tedenby first before I share them.

I don't think that was the reasoning behind trading for Poni. We might have done that anyway.

Exactly. The longer the board battle goes on, the less likely Teddy is to win the puck from it. Even when he is carrying the puck in open ice, there are times when he simply gets thrown off the puck by a defender. His puck responsibility cannot be where we want it to be because of this.

Who Am I?

When guessing the answer, try to show some proof to verify each category please

1. I've played for six NHL teams.
2. I had two stints with two of those teams.
3. I made it to one Stanley Cup final, but never won a Stanley Cup.
4. I was traded four times.
5. I am top ten all-time in this specific goal scoring category, with a few players who have also played for the Devils.
6. I was undrafted.

I'll give you a hint on number five. Kovalchuk, Elias, and Niedermayer are also on that list...I was late lol.

It's possible that Kovy is among the top 3 Devils all time in goals scored within 3 calendar years.

I didn't know where to place this, but I am a Flyer fan pleased with the Devils' play. I am pulling for the Devils this year because I am finally on the Brodeur bandwagon (after 20 years of denial) and I am tired of people doubting the Devils when they lose key players. So, I know it doesn't mean anything, but congrats to the good start. I hope you keep it going to prove all the pundits wrong (for the record, I had you guys 6th in the conference this season).

Thomas is technically tied for 14th in OT goals when ranked properly.

4. I played in Hockey East before playing in the NHL.
5. I never played an AHL game until the last two seasons of my pro career in North America.

That's weird. It also shows him when they show Jagr/Elias/Kovalchuk/Niedermayer

I had the Flyers out of the playoffs for this season. Seriously though, Devils strength lies in goaltending and defense. They are going to have to win games 2-1 and 3-2, because their offense is pretty bare right now. Our defense is so underrated and Marty is (and is playing) a lot better than people think he is.

Nevertheless, how has Foster looked?

So many Devils and former Devils on that list.
What are they teaching these people in the minors?

One thing I never understood with Tedenby. Deboer constantly says he gives 100% on the Offensive end, and he doubts his effort in the defensive end .

Why doesnt he give Teddy a chance on the 2nd PP then ??? He cant be worse then Bernier is .

I've made so many that I honestly don't remember.

Do you remember the clues/page number?

I think played a bit last game on the 2nd unit and got muscled off the puck like a 10 year old.

I live in Alabama and cannot watch any games at all. Regarding Foster I have not heard anything really positive or negative, but someone did mention the reason Luke Schenn has to play a lot of minutes is because we have players like Foster and Gervais on defense!

I had the Flyers in the 7-9 spot, struggling to make the playoffs.

Go on atdhenet.tv. You can find live streams to watch for free, decent quality. Or just ask in game day threads, I'm sure someone will have a working one

Welcome aboard, there is always room on Marty's bandwagon.

From TG:

Quote:
The Canadiens tried to trade up to select Matteau before the Devils drafted him 29th overall last June. Matteau said he was aware of the Habs’ interest in him.

“I was hearing things here and there, but I wasn’t really concentrating on that,” he said. “I was just waiting for my name to get called and anywhere would have been fine. I don’t think I could have found a better spot. I’m proud to be here (with the Devils).”

“Lou (Lamoriello) is the one who deals with the five-game rule and going back to junior and all that,’ DeBoer said. “In my mind, he’s getting an opportunity to play with two of the best players in the league in Zajac and Kovalchuk and he deserves to get that opportunity. It’s what he does with it. He hasn’t looked overwhelmed so far. He’s done a great job and, hopefully, that continues.
