And people complain about NHL officiating. The NBA is a joke. I stopped actually caring a long time ago. Can't even get riled up about it anymore.

It's official. Rondo has torn his right ACL. Out for season.

Wow. I just got the ESPN alert on my phone. I'll eat my crow now.

That sucks for them so much.

No need to eat crow. The reports came out of nowhere and he looked like he usually does. Hopefully it isn't too bad of a tear.

Wow. Well that's a blow.

Rudy Gay, JJ Reddick, we coming for you now.

Though we tend to play more as a team when Rondo is out. This puts a huge hammer down on us, but I'm curious to see how we respond. Season ain't over. The Bulls are hanging in there without Drose.

The Bulls are a much better team than the Celtics though.

The Celtics still don't have a reliable bench or big, and can't rebound. Rondo or no Rondo this team is bad. There's a reason they've gone on two 4+ game losing streaks already. They got blown out by bad teams constantly as well.

Celts will be truly lucky to even make the playoffs now that Rondo's gone down.

there's no point in trying to make it to the playoffs as the 8th seed to only get swept by the Heat in the 1st round. time to tank and hope for a good draft pick.

Alot of teams are, and yet we almost beat the Heat last year.

Its all about chemistry. If this group can figure out a way to come together, and Danny adds a few pieces, I don't see why we can't make a run.

They are in no position to add pieces though, They legit have two tradeable assets and that's Sullinger and Bradley, and both of them should stay.

This team is stuck in limbo right now.

I mean look at the contracts for Green, Bass, Lee. No team would ever take those on unless they got Bradley in the process. Not to mention, what's coming back the other way? Bandaid fixes and garbage.

Horrible news. You hate to see any player, regardless of the sport, suffer an injury like that. I wish him a speedy and healthy recovery.

On a side note, look for WEEI to go into full Bruins bandwagon mode.

Doubt it. Red Sox report to Fort Myers in like 2 and a half weeks.

Hell if a win. Glad the refs swallowed the whistles and let both teams play physical.

I hate basketball, but that was the first game I've watched all season and it was actually pretty enjoyable... I usually flip the channel after 5 minutes, but I was able to watch halftime-end of OT.

Sucks their sucky season is going to suck even more that Rondo is out, though.

They be aging but this team still has heart. Anything is possible with some good defense. With Rondo out this is the time to see who steps up. If you think they're going to just lay down and die, you're wrong. I'm excited to see how they do. They responded with a hell of a win today that's for sure.

Not necessarily. Could actually be a blessing in disguise. Rondo is a wizard, and capable of sublime performances, but that's not the whole story.

First of all, they've won their biggest games this season (Knicks, Heat) without Rondo, and arguably play with more heart in his absence. They've lost talent, but it doesn't seem far-fetched to feel that they've gained cohesion.

Secondly, it's possible that the rehab time will lead to reflection and self-examination on Rondo's part, and that he will emerge from it a better teammate. I don't expect him to become a great leader of men, but if he could just lose some of his petulance, it could make a significant difference. We've seen PP grow through the years; it would be nice to see this in Rondo as well.

Conspiracy theory I dreamed up:

Rondo sustains the injury, but it walking around. Ainge tells him to take the rest of the year off and that he'll build the team around him going forward. They fabricate the ACL tear. With Rondo out, Ainge now has an excuse to blow up the team since they really have no chance in the playoffs. He no longer has to sell the fare sale to the fan base.

FWIW, I could care less about the C's. I just think it's a fun conspiracy.
