I don't get it. St. Louis and maybe even San Jose?

Annnnnd Steve Ott slams John Carlson into the boards on shift #1. Off to the box for boarding. I very much dislike that douchewhistle.

I wish Ovechkin would magically be good at hockey again. His fall has been depressing.

Why are his linemates Crabb and Beagle?

That is insane depth.
I'd actually start him with Kelly and Peverley should we be fortunate to acquire him. Those two have some offensive skill, and we shouldn't just throw him on the top line because he's Jarome Iginla. That LKH line has established chemistry, and should be given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to remaining together. Now if they struggle then yes, you could mix it up, but that would be the beauty of having a guy like Iginla on the club.

Also, playing him on the 3rd unit keeps him away from the best defenders on the other teams, which he has always faced throughout his career. You let him be the sniper on the 3rd unit and create mismatch hell for everyone we play, and roll him out on that 2nd PP as well, giving him plenty of opportunities to score.

And I don't recall who mentioned it, but I do not foresee having to deal one of Kelly/Peverley in a deal for Iginla. Calgary needs futures more than anything, and if we're going to deal an "established" NHL player, it would be Caron IMO.

Caron, Khokhlachev, Sauve for Iginla. Three young, talented forwards for Calgary's reconstruction, and they don't even have to flip a draft pick in there.

Because Adam Oates doesn't have a clue what he's doing. I'm seeing a John MacLean v2.0 this season in Washington.

Kaleta just took 7 strides at Beagle.

Beagle ducked and Kaleta went over the top of him.

They need to fire him. He sucks. Caps will never win with Ovechkin.

Oates has two premier playmakers Backstrom and Ribeiro, and Ovechkin plays with Beagle and Crabb? WTF? Agree with Alycat, it sounds like a disease.

It's madness out here with the Giants and now the Niners. Sharks and Warriors also doing well.
