I think Snow would ask for either Morgan Rielly or James van Riemsdyk.

I'm not sold on James van Riemsdyk. I think he's got a lot of talent, but I question how much his coaches will have to push him, how much better he'll be then the isles own potential top 6ers Strome, Nelson and kabanov.

Gorges + Gallagher for Niederreiter + Visnovsky + conditional 1st/4th ( Visnovsky actually playing with the habs)

Good, bad, ugly?

Bad. Gorges would be welcome on Long Island, but I wouldn't want to trade Niederreiter for him. Gallagher would be behind more than a few in a loaded Islanders prospect pool, and there is no way the Islanders will trade Visnovsky with his value at rock bottom, let alone risk giving away a 1st (maybe lottery, who knows) to get rid of him.

after just watching the isles for 3 periods, i'd say nino is better than half of their current forwards.

Ok, I'm overrating Gallagher then.

Which is why Snow won't trade Nino.

Fans are acting as if Nino, was the only Sound Tiger having a strong season who didn't get a camp invite.

AHL rookie Brock Nelson, has been Bridgeport's best all round player.
2nd yr pro Matt Donovan is headed to the all star game. Isles didn't invite either of them to training camp. Like Nino, they are getting 20+ mins a game in Bridgeport.
Nelson and Nino on the top line.Donovan on the first pairing.

Ugly.

No interest in Gallagher or moving Nino/1st rounder.

I hope so.

We have a thread on the NYI board, asking when we can expect to see Wang open his checkbook again.

Some fans think he and Snow, want to get their top youngsters on the roster, see who fits where and make a big splash on the trade market going into Brooklyn.
Strome/Nino/Nelson are all expected to challenge for roster spots in next yr's camp.

I'd wanted to see him start spending, as soon as the arena issue was settled.

That's fine.

I am content to let the isles top youngsters continue to develop and battle it out in next fall's training camp

Counter proposal: Eberle for Nino+ Ness.

and before Oiler fans howl...

1.Nino's play has been described as dynamic in the AHL this season. Another report says he's been one of the best players in the AHL.

2.Nino has no leverage to force a trade.

3.Whether fans think the isles should view Nino as a potential stud doesn't matter. Snow's opinion, his scouting staff's opinions and the AHL coaching staff's opinions matter.

4. Isles are not trading Nino for 2-3 lesser pieces. They'll demand a young stud back.

Price too steep? Draft and develop a homegrown powerforward then.
This proposal is not even remotely close to comparable as the Hemsky/Gagner offer. Hemsky and Gagner are established top 6 players, while Bailey and Nino are clearly not. Eberle is a 1st line player while Nino and Ness aren't even NHL players.

The only thing Hemsky has established is being as fragile as DiPietro.

He's not THAT fragile.

Gagner > Neidereitter
Hemsky >>> Bailey

1.Isles do not want to trade Nino.

2.Nino's agent's comments, indicate that they grudgingly accept Snow's not trading Nino.

3.Isles have no interest in Hemsky or Gagner.
So, offer up something Snow would actually want. Snow's likely asking price considered too high?
Look elsewhere.

Except that Snow's saying he's sticking to his rebuild, his youth movement. So, trading his #1 prospect for Gagner's 45 pts makes zero for Snow. Nielsen will score the same number of points in the 2nd line center spot.

The isles don't want to pay the oft injured Hemsky $5m, so having him in NYI proposals make little sense.

IF he is available, can Detroit please have him?

Quincey plus Tatar plus Ferraro/draft pick?

Which of those pieces, would Snow consider a young potential stud, worth moving his young potential stud? With a similar upside?

Quincey ?
Tatar ?
Ferraro?

none, but how many trades in the last 10 years in the NHL have you ever seen equal talent and upside being exchanged between both teams?

How do you know what Snow wants? Hemsky/Gagner would be a big improvement over Boyes on RW. I think due to them being established players, you can't expect other teams to fork over their talent for unproven players.

I don't see what's wrong with Gagner as a youth player, he's only 23 who still has arbitration rights and is RFA eligible. 45 points is adequate production for a 2nd line player and what's to say he doesn't improve?

I'm pointing out Snow's trade demand mo the last 3-4 yrs: 1 young stud for my young stud.

And his comments to the press: Not trading Nino, sticking to his rebuild.
