You'll think otherwise when the playoffs come and the coaching staff believes that guys like Engo and Lovejoy are options because the young guys have 'too little playing experience'.
Bring injuries, Engo will probably be in the lineup come playoff time. Guaranteed Lovejoy isn't.

And Lovejoy will be the first in. I guarantee that.
And, you'll have no choice but to have Engo in. I guarantee that.
In a world where the coach has taken the time to see what he's got in guys like Despres and Bortuzzo, a guy like Engo would be a choice and a guy like Lovejoy never would be a consideration under any circumstance.

I got it. Trade Kennedy, Despres, and Bortuzzo in any combination for Seto and Glencross. Who cares about losing two young D-men, we have like 58 others behing them.

You're silly. Who's ever missed the playoffs with a 2-3 record? Ok, I'm aware that tons of teams have. But, it's just a microcosm of the season. Not the end of the world.
I don't mean it's the end of the world.
I'm just saying that today is a must win in the sense that we don't wanna be down three games.
I'm guessing that this is your inimitable way of concurring with what I've written about why guys like Despres and Bortuzzo should be playing now.
Lol. There better be a bigger reason why Despres is not playing. He wasnt that bad. Why not let him work those kinks out now? I am not in the Tangradi hasn't gotten a fair shot camp, but this is ridiculous.

Not saying Engo is a superstar, but he's usually very solid. He's also one of our only two physical d'men. He's just fine in a 3rd pairing role. Last game was bad, but I'd give him a pass against Toronto after that brawl w/ Orr.

To be clear, I think Engo has limited playoff value at best, and Lovejoy has none. We already know that.
Despres could be a guy you want in the playoffs IF you let him work the kinks out now, in the same way Therrien let Letang work the kinks out. But, you'll never know otherwise.
Same goes for Bortuzzo.
And, when the playoffs come, the coaches will say 'we've got no choice but to start Engo and to make Lovejoy first off the bench, because the younger guys are too green and don't have enough playing experience'.

Engo's bad play didn't start after that fight, and he's just fine in a third pairing role if you don't have a better choice. Bortuzzo could be, but you'll never know if you don't bother to find out.
Its strange imo to keep Depsres sidelined. He hasnt been that bad in the first games imo. And even if he was, 1 game in the stands would surely prove a point. 2 games doenst make sense, especially not when Lovejoy/Engelland werent the best in the last game.
Either they are showcasing Lovejoy, or they are working on a trade involving Despres imo.
I guess Despres is sitting because he is young. Someone has to be held accountable and it sure ain´t the infallible vets who continues to make a barrage of mistakes. Bylsma logic

The why does our break out involve that stupid stretch pass 90% of the time? Practice what you preach.
I didn't have the pregame on but I'd imagine it's Robby Incmikoski.
Quote:
Fox Sports North reporter Robby Incmikoski is leaving the network for a similar job in Pittsburgh.
Incmikoski has covered the Minnesota Twins for FSN since 2009. He also was on the beat for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Wild, and the University of Minnesota hockey team.
He's going to Root Sports Network, where he will be a sideline reporter for the Pittsburgh Pirates and high school football, and the pregame reporter for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
