Bogosian/Enstrom to Ottawa

It's been discussed a bit on the Sens board and I was just wondering what others think. I have not a clue what Winnipeg's needs are. I think Bogosian is valued a little higher then Enstrom, I would imagine. So what would it take from our side to get this done for Winnipeg?

For quality players like them, there aren't really any untouchables IMO, but I highly doubt Lehner or Silfverberg will be going anywhere. And obviously Karlsson.

Neither are realistic.

Bogo is a non-starter, he is not up for discussion; the Jets are building around him. Enstrom just signed a 5-year deal also so I doubt they'd move him either. Guess you'll just have to look somewhere else for D.

The Jets GM stated they are building their D around Bogo.

Thanks for the inquiry, but no chance, period.

As much as I love Bogo and see Murray going after him first, we'd also have enormous interest in Enstrom almost equally.

I can't even think of a realistic trade that I would like. Our defense will be the driving force that puts us into the playoffs (hopefully) this year. Enstrom and Buff are essential together as they just work that well. Bogo will slide into the #3 spot with Hainsey and really kick that line up a notch. That will leave us Stuart and Posta as our #5/6. Stuart has been doing ok as the #4 but he's not a permanent solution there. Losing Bogo or Enstrom would put a huge hold in our D.

Enstrom just signed a 6 year contract with a full NMC.

Bogosian is our young D that is at worst a #2 dman. At 6'3 and 22 years old he still has top 10 D. Potential. As far as I know, he's happy in Winnipeg and Winnipeg is happy with him. Never even heard a single rumour otherwise tbh. I doubt management trades either player.

It would have to be a heck of an overpayment for either.

Realistically you should just look elsewhere for your defensemen.

And Bogosian/Enstrom are worth too much for what little will be offered here for them.

One could argue that the value may be there, but that's it's not going to happen from the JETS perspective!!!

If Enstrom and Kronwall are viewed as equal, the other pieces involved while being enticing, are just too unproven for the JETS to move their 21 year old 30 goal scorer for.

NO DEAL here that would make sense for either organization. If the JETS are moving one of their two best defensemen, (which they're not) Silfverberg and Lehner must be on the table.

Winnipeg's needs are Bogosian and Enstrom. One of Karlsson/Spezza would have to be going back.

Luckily Ken Holland wouldn't. That's 2 of our top 4 D gone. Unless you mean it's Enstrom+Bogosian+Kane for all of that, in which case it's not very good. I mean the value might be there but it's not very good for the jets.

So let me get this straight, you want our future #1 D-man, and our current #1 D-man that pairs nicely with Buff. This leaves us with Byfuglien and a bunch of scrubs. Not only that when Byfuglien isn't with Enstrom he plays like ass.

I wouldn't even know where to start. Currently our greatest need is at D, especially left handed. Take Enstrom away and we only have bottom pairing guys on the left side.

Jets aren't going to trade one of their two best defensemen for a bunch of lesser pieces they have no need for.

Even then it's a tough sell. Enstrom/Byfuglien are putting up 26-30 minutes a night and have incredible chemistry, the best offensive pairing in the league. It would take an incredibly massive overpayment to break them up. Take out Bogosian and we have two top four defensemen.

You'll have what you have now, bottom pairing guys getting middle pairing minutes. It isn't pretty. There's a reason Enstrom and Buff are right at the top of the league in minutes.

Never understood all these 'Peg proposals. Why would a team trending upwards trade core players under 30? Enström is 28 and a latebloomer, he's got the best years ahead of him..

Why do the Jets do this? Bogosian is younger, bigger, cheaper and out performed Subban offensively last year. He did worse defensively but also had much worse D partners.
