He's going back to Oshawa.

Hope he tears it up there.

It's a tough call, but the right call. Flyers can look to bring in another veteran forward, or see who pops up on waivers.

Right move for his development, the difference this year between him and a wellwood is minimal this year. Like what I saw from him and he ll get the ice time now to get even better

i like this decision very much. Laughton has shown he can play in the nhl , and he will take that with him to the ohl. He is not physically ready for a 3rd line center role right now in the NHL.

Maybe the right move for his offensive development. His defensive approach to the game seems like its already nhl quality though. I think the flyers are a better team with him here than without him, but that's nothing a veteran 4th line C can't fix. Maybe someone can be had.

i'm ok with it. i honestly think he would have stuck if Briere were out a little longer or if McGinn didn't impress. I think the later had the most to do with it honestly. since wellwood is gone, i guess that means sestito is in.

McGinn coming up and playing well facilitated it. I wonder if he stays up here now.

you just just have to ask yourself is it beneficial to play him under 10 minutes a game playing on the 4th line here or top line minutes in Oshawa.
I am ok with it honestly. Hes a good kid and he will be fine. I wouldnt worry about any confidence whatsoever. He probably knew the deal going into the season that he would likely be headed back to Oshawa after his 5 game stint.

even when fully healthy i think the best line-up is with McGinn (unless they pick someone else up) so i would assume he stays.

He isn't playing top line minutes in Oshawa though.

He's behind Jenner

I like this McGinn kid, nice sand paper player, even if he will never put up points, it's nice to see one of our draft picks make it

He'll still get double the minutes he would have gotten here with PP and PK time. Oshawa has a pretty good team. Maybe they can make a run, which would be beneficial for him. If they don't, he can join the Phantoms at the end of the year and there certainly won't be anyone to take his minutes away.

I find that it's a great move. He's been invisible, but not his fault I find. But I do find he will definitely develop into a better player in the OHL right now. We did well against the Rangers when we had less offensive players, but now that Schenn and Briere are back, sending Laughton down I find is a good decision.

Its the best for him and that is what counts. Let him get more minutes and mature. He will be fine and will earn a spot with the Flyers next season. With Briere coming back and the play of McGinn that may have altered their decision. But it is the smart move. To burn a year when he is getting limited ice time in a short season does not make sence.

Honestly, I think it's the right call. I'd love for the kid to stay up but he needs a bit more time to develop.

Sad, but it's probably for the best. Not everyone's ready, and he should get a lot more playing time in the O.
