Refresh my memory, when did we have collusion or throwing the draft?

No collusion, but Bugg sure tried to throw the draft last time due to his obsession with reuniting a real-life defense pair at the expense of his #1 pick.

I lost count of how many times his attempts to give Fetisov away were vetoed.

Yeah, Bugg is what I was referring to. He had stopped attempting to build the best team and maximize his own return in trades. In such a scenario, no rule can account for simply giving away value, and the veto must remain an option.

The funny thing is, I truly didn't believe (and still doesn't) that I was making out like bandit on those trades. I wouldn't of gave more, not because of greediness, but because I thought I wouldn't hurt myself more than help it if I was accepting any worst. However, last draft I had a strong team concept, and my #1 defenceman was a big part of that concept. I'm also a huge fan of his.

I guess I was making a little gain, while Bugg was receiving a huge lost.

We'll just have to disagree on that point.

After the first of his trade proposals was vetoed, Bugg seems to have decided to troll the draft. I honestly believe this. He was no longer active in thread conversations and did nothing to defend his team in the playoffs. All his energy in the ATD was devoted towards coming up with huge, unbalanced trade proposals. I understand wanting to reunite a real life pairing, but Bugg wasn't going to all that trouble for the small aesthetic pleasure of seeing two names next to one another on a computer screen playing for a team that could not possibly win; it was just an excuse to troll the draft.

Fair enough. Bugg's trade behavior last draft was the worst we've experienced.

Conditional Trade to report

To Cincinatti: 92,156
for
To New Jersey: 100,133

Trade is conditional on who is available at pick 92 - either side can call it off until then.

Boring. Couldn't you guys swap a 10th for a 28th rounder, or something? I didn't join the trade committee to just sit around rubber-stamping such anodyne fare.

Our other option was

#92, 8th rounder, 13th rounder, 19th rounder
for #100, 7th rounder, 10th rounder, 12th rounder

but we decided to go the easy way.

According to TDMM in the draft thread he will not be trading so Stoneberg and I worked out a trade:

90+154 for 100+133

Done.

Essentially the same deal that was approved with TDMM so I assume you're good to go with the pick.

I never said I wouldn't be trading, but that trade is obviously fine.

For the future, it makes it a lot easier to keep the OP of this thread up to date if everyone posts trades in a standard format like this:

To Cincinatti Fireworks: 90, 154
To Halifax Mooseheads: 100, 133

Les Nordiques de Québec are interested in trading down in the 4th round. Most likely a swap of 4th round picks in order to move up in the 5th and possibly 7th rounds. All negotiable of course.

PM EB or myself if interested.

edit: pending deal has been worked out. Just waiting for confirmation from EB on this one before it is posted.
